OXTED FORD CUP FINAL - 23 April 2006

Treadway hat-trick for Southchurch

Cambourne Wednesday

2-4Southchurch United

The Oxted Ford Cup

Martin Treadway was the Southchurch goal machine, scoring three of their four goals at a very damp Thurrock F.C..

His first goal came after ten minutes and was probably the pick of the bunch. Southchurch increased their lead to 2-0 before half-time and Cambourne didn't look like they had an answer to their play.

Things improved for Cambourne soon after the break and they pulled the score back to 2-1. But their newly found momentum was quickly dashed as Southchurch took the score to 3-1 to restore their two-goal advantage.

Cambourne again made a game of it at 3-2 and the score until close to the end of the match, when Treadway got his hat-trick goal to make the final score 4-2.

Overall a good game played in the right spirit and football was the winner.
