ADVICE FOR THE NEW CLUBS |
Many of the new teams have come from other Leagues where kick off time is 11:00am on Sundays. Please remember that this league always starts at 10:30am. It is one of the major points you need to get across to your players to avoid unwanted fines for late kick offs, or worse, lost points. All correspondence with the league should go to Stan Hamilton, the secretary. In general if you need advice or you have a grievance, contact Joe Williams, the league delegate for help. If Joe is unavailable, any league officer will help. Referee's Fees: Please pay these promptly. The refs should be paid their £25 fee before the match. Some refs don't like to ask for their money and your prompt action will avoid any embarrassment. You will find that some officials still ask you to settle up after the match, as they don't like leaving money in the changing rooms. Fair enough, but at least you have made the offer, as per League rule. Sometimes Frank Marsh, the league's Ref's secretary, will place assistant refs (linesmen) on your matches. Their fees are to be paid equally by both teams, whereas the referees fee is the duty of the home team for League matches and both teams in cup games. Confirming your matches: Please confirm the game with your opponents and referee as soon as possible in the week prior to the match. Remember some teams/refs will be unfamiliar with your ground if they haven't played there before. And be sure to check there isn't a colour clash. Results: Your matchday results must be phoned in to Stan Hamilton as soon as possible after the match, certainly no later than 4:30pm. The home team is responsible for contacting Stan for league matches, whereas both teams should phone him with cup results. County cup results must also be phoned through to Stan as well as the County group officer. Appeals: Any appeals against fines or action taken by the league must go through Stan, accompanied by the correct appeal fee. But bear in mind we have no jurisdiction over actions taken by a County football association. Also we cannot reverse any refereeing decisions. If you are unhappy with a ref, drop a line to Frank Marsh and he will investigate. County Fixtures: You will see some County fixtures appear in the magazine and on the website. Our information is taken from the Internet and if you don't see your team printed contact Peter George, the magazine editor and these fixtures will be added to the list. League & Corinthian Cup: In order to complete these competitions, it may sometimes prove necessary to switch the grounds, placing the team drawn first away. This is a necessary evil and will mean ground expenses are switched from one team to another. That's life I'm afraid! These things tend to balance out over the season. |
