PREMIER DIVISION CUP

It took a large stifff broom and a surprisingly open minded groundsman, but these things combined enabled Warren United to complete their third tie of this season's Premier Division Cup competition with Emerson Park the visitors to Barkingside on a wintery and absolutely freezing Sunday morning in Barkingside.

Park were out of the blocks fastest and were ahead early on with a well taken goal after an error at the back for United. The hosts equalised almost immediately from a mistake and further extended their lead, including missing a penalty, to lead 4-1. Second half goals for Emerson pulled the tie back to 4-3 which made for an exciting finish as Rob Clark scored twice and Benn Fogg once. However, Warren held on to record an agonising first cup win in the competition.

That result confirms semi-final spots for Romford Elite and Flanders with the remaining four sides battling it out for the further two places.
