PREMIER DIVISION

The Easter weekend saw a near full Premier Division schedule with matters at both the top and bottom of the table nearing conclusions. The shock of the day came in Beckton where Liberty Stars won 2-0 in their penultimate match of the season, ending Upshire’s long unbeaten league record as the Stars moved up a place to seventh in the table.

That result enabled second placed Warren United to close the gap on the league leaders to just three points as a closely fought 2-1 victory at home to co-tenants Valentines United was settled through strikes from Daniel Bell and James Peagram.

An entertaining match between Repton Park and Flanders saw a nine-goal thriller as the hosts ran out 5-4 victors to keep up their own chase of a top two finish this season. Shane Campbell scored twice for Flanders with Adam and Matt Hunt scoring one each but Jayden Ambrose’s hat-trick and a Jesse Spearing brace proved just enough for Repton to take home the points.

And completing the action in the Premier Division, cup finalists Ainslie Wood secured a vital league victory which virtually confirmed their safety in the division for another season, beating Quality Control by the odd goal in a 3-2 win. Ben Pudler, Ben Davidson and Ryan Radley were all on target for Wood to confirm the win.

DIVISION ONE

There will be a quite sensational end to the season in Division One, something which has been on the cards all season in truth in one truly competitive division. Chingford Celtic have done all that they needed to do to set up the knife-edge finish as they secured a 5-2 win at home to Dagenham United. Robert Teppett continued his fine recent form with another two goals with strikes from Lee Pearce, Gus Douglas and Ross Chimes completing the victory.

Three sides are now in the hunt for the league title with just a single game remaining. Barking and Chingford Celtic face a winner-takes-all fixture next Sunday with the winner being crowned league champions. However, a draw between the sides would see debutants Emerson Park take the title instead so all is to play for!

DIVISION TWO

The runners-up spot in Division Two remains up for grabs with Waltham Athletic and Park Tavern battling it out to secure Division One football for next season. Waltham moved up above rivals Park Tavern and into second position with a 2-1 win over FC Mexico in Walthamstow. Liam Nicklin and Rickie Brown scored the all important goals to set up a promotion decider next weekend.

DIVISION THREE

The only game of the day in Division Three saw two sides complete their fixture schedules with AC Milano Reserves hosting Asianos Reserves in Stratford. And it was the visitors who ran out 5-3 winners in an eight-goal thriller as Samiullah Haqhyar bagged himself a hat-trick to add to an Asif Mahmood double.
