9 Jan 2005

Flogas vs. O’Grady's (Premier Division)

"Perhaps my fee today could go towards some of the O’Grady's players to attend a school of ETIQUETTE" - Alan Goddard

Plaistow Sporting vs. Costins United (Premier Division)

"Bumpy pitch, windy conditions, but two teams trying to play the game in the right spirit. A pleasure to referee. Well done lads." - Stephen Hyde

Queens Athletic vs. Morfdown Elect (Premier Division)

"This game was quite something. Ten goals scored and it could have been twenty. It seemed that the very windy conditions helped the forwards and was a nightmare for defenders." - David Rivett

12 Dec 2004

Eyehurst Eagles vs. Essex Snooker (Division One)

"Good sporting game, played in the right spirit, a very easy game to referee. Well done to both teams." - Stephen Hyde

Maze vs. La Chiesa del Corno (Division Three)

"A joy to referee. Competitive game, 22 players, 2 linesman and about 20 spectators and myself had a very enjoyable morning. Thanks to all concerned." - Don Bergin

Stonewood vs. Ladzio (Division Three)

"A great game of football to referee. Without any problems from either side, which is unusual to see in football. Thanks to both sides." - Howard Brown

5 Dec 2004

Morfdown Elect vs. NCY (Premier Division)

"Good game until 70 minutes when I gave a penalty against Morfdown, then the attitude changed, shame we had six referee’s on the sidelines who will not take up the whistle." - John Wallace

Billet Uplands vs. Essex Snooker (Division One)

"Very good game indeed, both sides wanted to play football with the home side playing some of the best attacking football that I have seen this season, Thank You." - Dave Rivett

Lonsdale vs. North Romford (Division Two)

"The score might indicate a totally one sided match, but it was not once North Romford realised that instead of continually blaming the referee about his decisions, and that they wanted to play football. Instead they were a better team. They got back to 4-2 and looked the better team and dominated the second half. It really looked like they might get something from the game until the killer fifth goal went in. Sadly their heads dropped and they got hit with three late goals." - Paul Chapman

28 Nov 2004

Lea Bridge Rangers vs. Elan (Senior Division Printers Cup)

"Still the same moans & groans from Lea Bridge. When will they ever learn to just get on with the game, as they are a very good side when they stop moaning, and play football the way they can. Dave O’Donnell & Tom Quartermaine two excellent assistants, which was well needed." - Gary Thatcher

Krona vs. Billet Uplands (Division One)

"Good game end to end, enjoyable game to do, both sides were excellent. Thank You." - Chris Masters

21 Nov 2004

St. Edwards vs. Toby (Senior Division)

Somewhat disappointed with St Edwards’ supporters abuse of 3 or 4 Toby players (trying to wind them up) and after a few decisions that did not go their way, they started to aim their abuse at me. I spoke to the St Edwards secretary and he did his best but it continued throughout the game. Although the abuse was quite mild I think a word from the league to St Edwards about their attitude might be enough this time, and to quieten them down and avoid unnecessary fines. Not only by the league but also County FA. Back to the football, a good hard battle with Toby showing that bit more quality and running out worthy winners. - John Vaughan

14 Nov 2004

Elan vs. Warren United (Senior Division)

"Good competitive game, nice football & great to see both goal nets & corner flags all set up 30 minutes before KO. Plus made very welcome, well-done thank you lads." - ???

St. Augustines vs. Toby (Senior Division)

"If both teams had concentrated on their football instead of questioning my decisions, I might have enjoyed this match as well. As any neutral that may have been watching, good football with some very good goals." - Alan Goddard

Ladzio vs. Woodford Hammers (Division Three)

"On remembrance Sunday, the game was not very peaceful, but one not to forget." - Jamie Garwood

7 Nov 2004

Prospectors Allstars vs. St. Augustines (Senior Division)

"Very disappointed with St Augustines, as a team they were very unsporting, and gave me a lot of verbal dissent, also after the game had finished." - Elliott Kaye

Warren United vs. EMWA (Senior Division)

"After last weeks disgrace it was pleasing to see two well-organised teams prepared to play football and enjoy the game in good spirit. The way it should be. I hope this trend continues and last week was just a one off. Thank you." - Lloyd Wood

Toby vs. St. Edwards (Senior Division Printers Cup)

"It was a great game to referee, except from the constant whinging from Toby FC" - Peter Watts

NCY vs. Flogas (Premier Division)

"A great competitive game played by both teams with both sides having chances to win, but two goals scored in the last 10 minutes by Flogas secured a great game for Flogas. Many thanks to both sides & to the league for a great game of football." - Howard Brown

St. Augustines Res vs. May & Bakers (Division Three)

"A game that was a pleasure to referee marked only by a flash of frustration that had no reflection on the two teams performance. Generally both teams are a credit to themselves & the league. Thank You." - Michael Cohen

31 Oct 2004

Woodhurst vs. Cambourne Wednesday (Division One)

"Woodhurst manager – although they lost said “ This is when you know it’s worth it” – a really terrific game I cannot praise both teams enough for their football and sportsmanship. Thank you." - Dave O'Donnell

Stonewood vs. Digital Line (Division Three)

"Very good game, played in the correct sport & tempo, brilliant game to referee and both sides were credit to themselves and the league. Thank you." - Clive Masters

19 Sept 2004

Plaistow Sporting vs. O’Grady's (Premier Division)

"When you are told to “Fuck Off to another League” You really do consider it." - Peter Watts

12 Oct 2003

Woodford Hammers vs. Stonewood (Division Three)

"The Stonewood manager voiced his unhappiness at my performance after the game, due to a challenge leading to a bloody mouth. He felt and said it warranted a caution. I did not agree as felt it to be an accident. I stand by all my decisions throughout the game." - Jamie Garwood

Bryant Rovers vs. May & Bakers (Division Three Cup)

"A good game in the first half at least, with no problems. But the second half a much different story, with away side being a bit 'niggley' and unsporting. The winning goal was not offside as argued by May & Bakers." - David Rivett

St. Edwards vs. Queens Athletic (Premier Division Cup)

"Both teams showed a good attitude and played the game in true spirit. The score was 1-1 at full time and both sides had chances to win before extra time.” - Ernie Forsyth

5 Oct 2003

Theydon Bois vs. Toby (Senior Division)

"Made very welcome by the groundsman. Very helpful in sorting out some difficulties with corner flags and holes in the pitch." - Steve Hyde

28 Sep 2003

Peacock vs. Allied (Senior Division)

"I am left speechless by the attitude of some players and it's always the same ones. When things go wrong, it's always the referee's fault." - Peter Watts

Maze vs. North Romford (Division Two Cup)

"Maze have one or two players who just will not accept the referee's decisions without arguing." - Jim Bates

Colebrook Royals vs. O'Grady's (Division One)

"Credit to both teams who accepted my decisions and played football. No cautions.” - Alan Goddard

21 Sep 2003

Allied vs. Toby (Senior Division)

"Poor quality game really. Very dry and bumpy pitch and it only came alive in the second half" - David Rivett

May & Bakers vs. Woodford Hammers (Division Three)

"Well-mannered game from both teams, which reflects the high sportsmanship mark. Overall an excellent game" - Scott Threadgold

Wellstead Wanderers vs. Royal Falcons (Division Two)

"What a cracking game to be involved in. Both teams made this a lively encounter and a good honest game to referee. A shame there had to be a winner as both teams earned a draw, but Royal Falcons scored with ten seconds remaining. I have no doubt that both teams will be up there at the end of the season trying for promotion. Many thanks to both clubs for a cracking game of football; an absolute pleasure to referee.” - John Vaughan

14 Sep 2003

Altern vs. Baronsmere (Division Two)

"These two teams were an absolute disgrace, arguing with every decision I gave against them. No wonder there is a shortage of referees when teams behave like this. The best part of this game was when I blew for full-time" - - Mark Goddard

Cresta Park vs. Cambourne Wednesday (Division Two)

"Found it a bit disappointing that none of the home team, including the manager, did not even bother thanking me or shaking my hand at the end of the game. I found them to be poor losers" - Scott Threadgold

Peacock vs. EMWA (Senior Division)

"This was a very good match; no bad tackles. A pleasure to referee" - Keith Eglinton

Wellstead Wanderers vs. North Romford (Division Two)

"This was played in a very good spirit by both sides" - Richard Harris

7 Sep 2003

North Romford vs. Cresta Park (Division Two)
