Over the past few days, members of our committee have been inundated with phone calls and messages from clubs with concerns over the rise in the number of COVID cases, with a large number seeing active cases within their own clubs right now. Naturally, we wish all of those concerned a speedy recovery.

Of course, with these cases comes a degree of anxiety, particularly with the proximity to the upcoming festive period with many sides already unable to field sides due to the above issues. The committee have discussed the situation at great length and still wish for fixtures to proceed where both teams are able to field sides which we feel is the best approach given the present circumstances and government advice.

Sides unable to play due to COVID issues however, for this weekend only, will be allowed to postpone fixtures if such request is received by the league by 5pm on Friday 17th December. Requests received after this will see clubs charged and matches awarded as per existing protocol.

The committee are monitoring the situation constantly and, although cases are on the rise, it is hoped that by the time football resumes in early January, a significant number of people will have received their jabs and the sport can move forward with confidence, just in time for the winter weather to play it's part!
