TROPHYLAND CUP FINAL

The final silverware was decided on Sunday as we, firstly, saw the conclusion of this season’s Trophyland Cup Final with Roneo Colts taking on St Augustines at Dagenham & Redbridge. It was treble seeking Saints who were fastest out of the blocks with Callum Daniels firing in after 11 minutes, before Colts levelled through D’jean Holland five minutes later. That goal turned the flow of the game and Chris Ross headed in for Colts on the half hour, they led 2-1 at the break. The second half started well for Colts, Dwayne Francis-Riley finding space in the box and lashing in the third for 3-1, that being the way the game finished, Colts lifting a piece of silverware in their final game as a group.

CORINTHIAN CUP FINAL

Sunday afternoon’s cup final action, the last of a long season, saw the Corinthian Cup Final take place with national champions Baiteze Squad facing Brook Athletic for the right to lift the silverware. An enthralling game saw Brook lead in the 8th minute as Okay Oniah netted before Harry Gibbs popped up to level for Baiteze on the half hour, beating the offside trap to make it 1-1. A mad few moments before half time saw Holder slipped in to give Brook their lead once again but Carvell then levelled in the 42nd minute to make it 2-2. Baiteze were then awarded a penalty but Cole’s effort was saved. The second half saw Baiteze in the ascendency and looked to have won it on the hour as Kevin Krans stroked home for 3-2. But in the dying embers, Brook were awarded a penalty which Monsheju stepped up to score and level the game at 3-3, taking the game to a shootout. Bhamra was the hero in the shootout for Brook as they ran out 4-1 victors to lift their first Corinthian Cup title!
