As we welcome in the month of May this weekend, the final
month of a long season, we preview the Division One Cup final as Archers
Athletic face Aldborough Hatch.
SUNDAY 3RD
MAY 2015, 10.30AM KICK-OFF
DIVISION ONE CUP FINAL, ARCHERS ATHLETIC VS ALDBOROUGH HATCH
Both sides have already tasted cup final action this season
with Aldborough Hatch having been narrowly defeated in the Corinthian Cup to
Coral while Archers Athletic were soundly beaten by Warren United Res in the
Trophyland Cup. Both therefore I can assure will be eager to put those results
behind them and take some silverware from the season.
New boys, Archers Athletic, have had a solid season and will
finish in mid-table in their first campaign, something not to be underestimated
considering the strength of the first division this season. They are obviously
big fans of cup competitions having reached two finals and will want to take
something out of the season to drive them on to further successes in 2015/16.
Meeting Archers in the final this Sunday are the re-formed
Aldborough Hatch. Having resumed where they left off last summer, Aldborough
have taken no time at all to gel and have outside hopes of a league and cup
double still within their grasp. Having only lost 3 competitive matches all
season, you suspect that they will be hoping for a trophy for the cabinet to
represent what has been a terrific season.
This Sunday is the last major final of the campaign and we
hope it will continue to provide the same thrills as the other finals already
completed. This Sunday’s Division One Cup final kick-offs at 10.30am at
Thurrock FC. Tickets are available from the clubs involved or on the gate at a
cost of £4.
