DAGENHAM UNITED 3-1 EAST HAM INTER
TROPHYLAND CUP FINAL

Sunday morning's Trophyland Cup Final produced a real spectacle of a contest as Division Four's East Ham Inter gave Division Two's Dagenham United a real scare. Inter were fastest out of the blocks and caused the Daggers' defence a rea headache in the first half with a number of chances created. Despite the threat, they could only produce a single goal which came on the brink of half time. A defensive miscommunication saw the Inter play nip in to head over the keeper and into the lead.

Dagenham made some key substitutions at half time and were far improved in the second half. They were level not long after the restart as an excellent ball was clipped to the far post where Carter turned in a glanced header to level it up. A momentum swing then followed and the pressure eventually told with Carter the hero again poking in from close range. With the game opening up, another substitute rounded off proceedings as Teixeira's expertly executed lob made it 3-1.

Congratulations to the Dagenham United management team and players on completing the league and cup double this season which is a tremendous feat. Big well done to East Ham Inter who represented their division with much respect and, on a different date, could well have left with the silverware.

REPTON PARK 4-2 WARREN UNITED
CORINTHIAN CUP

The Corinthian Cup Final came to a conclusion on Sunday afternoon in an enthralling contest between two rivals. Both sides were expectedly fast out of the blocks with Repton ahead on four minutes as the initial effort thundered back off the bar and Repton's attacker was fastest to the rebound the nod home. But just over five minutes later, Warren were level as Bell capitalised on a mistake at the back to roll into an empty net. But Repton responded well, scoring twice more before the break with a close range finish following a penalty box scramble then a terrific slotted finish making it 3-1 to them at half time.

The second half began as dramatically as the first as within seconds of the restart, Repton extended their lead with a fourth goal. Another defensive mistake taken full advantage of by the forward to cooly round the keeper and roll home into the empty net. To their credit however, that goal sparked thirty minutes of Warren dominance and they could well have brought the tie level on the balance of play. They got a goal back just before the hour with their right back finding space in the box and slotting past the Repton stopper to make it 4-2.  They then struck the bar again, this time from a free kick and ultimately the mistakes were too much to recover from as Repton held out to become league and cup double winners!

Well done to Jesse and his team on a terrific achievement with still one more competition to play for in a fortnight's time. To our runners-up this year, despite missing a number of key players, Warren never gave this one up and, had they stuck their chances away, we'd be summarising a different outcome I'm sure.
