The Premier Division Cup is back in El Valiente hands once again with a 2-0 win last night in the 2019/20 final against Asianos down at Barking FC's Mayesbrook Park Stadium.

Having secured the trophy in it's last outing in April of 2019 with a victory against Flanders, this year's finalists braved the cold chill at the recently renovated Mayesbrook Park in front of a decent crowd.

Both sides had chances in the first half but it was El Valiente who made the breakthrough on the half hour mark with a terrific strike which finally seperated the sides. The best of the Asianos chances came just before the break with a terrific cross headed just over and the El Valiente keeper forced into a save with his feet.

In the second half, the game began to open up a little but both sides remained well matched until a second goal arrived midway through the second period with good work by the El Valiente forward who the presented the ball for a teammate to finish and double the lead to 2-0. Asianos fought hard in the closing stages and twice went close with a delightful cross narrowly headed wide of his own goal by a defender and another deflected effort which squirmed wide of the post.

But it was to be El Valiente's night once again with the East Ham based side securing the silverware for another few months at least until the 2020/21 competition reaches a conclusion in the Spring.

Thank you to both clubs, the excellent match officials and to the spectators who came along to support the sides on a very cold night!

Photos and match highlights will be available shortly in a few days' time.
