This Sunday afternoon, all roads lead to Haringey Borough’s Coles Park ground for the highly anticipated London Sunday Challenge Cup Final as league champions, Hatch Lane, go for county glory against the Barnet Sunday League’s Trabzonspor at 5.30pm.

Seasons don’t get much better than that experienced by this Hatch side who have been both exciting to watch and very consistent, a winning combination if ever there was one. Under the guidance of Derek, Selly and Kevin this season, they started their run in the competition with a walkover victory against last season's finalists, Mile End Baiteze who withdrew from the competition in the early stages. In November, they hosted Westbourne United and secured a hard fought 4-2 victory to go through. That win was then followed by one of their top performances of the season as they travelled to south London to take on SE Dons, two second half stunners giving them a 2-0 success in front of a huge crowd. The first forty-five minutes of their home quarter final saw them take apart a highly rated Spartans side as Hatch's quick passing game was put to destructive effect, going on to win the game 5-1. In the semi-final, they hosted an SWAG side from south London and despite an indifferent performance, were able to squeeze past their opponents in a 2-1 success, confirming their place in the final!

They take on a Trabzonspor side who have been on a great run in the competition themselves and are not to be underestimated, a side full of experience in their own right. They've been involved in some close games all the way through, defeating FC Bickley (2-0) in the first round, national finalists Highgate Albion (2-1) in the second round, south London's Hatcham (3-2) in the third round, Bayswater (3-2) in the quarter finals, setting up a semi final at Baiteze Squad in the semi finals. They came from a goal down to Baiteze to take the tie, winning 2-1 to put themselves into the final.

We wish everybody involved with Hatch Lane the best of luck for Sunday's final and look forward to being at the game to cheer you on!
