Following a proposal from clubs in the past weeks, the league's management committee have agreed to the launch of a new Corinthian Charity Shield Final which will act as the curtain raiser for the new season.

The eagerly anticipated match will see the winners of the previous season's Corinthian Cup take on the Premier Division winners, or in the instance of last season where the same side won both, the next best side in the league table will be invited to compete.

This year's inaugural match will be between Repton Park and El Valiente with the tie taking place on Wadham Lodge's intermediate pitch in Walthamstow, now better known as the "Stray Dog", on Sunday 25th August, kicking off at 1pm.

As the title suggests, one of the fundamental purposes of this fixture is as a vehicle to raise funds for charity with all profits from the day being donated to a worthy cause. The spectator entry fee is £3 for adults and £1 for children.

We look forward to seeing many of you there on the day!
