The November action reached a climax last night with the final game of football prior to the new restrictions which saw KLIK crowned as the 2019/20 Division One Cup winners following an enthralling game against St Augustines in front of a large, vocal crowd at Oakside.

The early exchanges provided little highlight with the two midfields dominating the first quarter of the game in Barkingside. The game really came into life on around the twenty minute mark with the KLIK attacker making a superb run into the Saints final third before unleashing a terrific strike into the bottom corner to hand his side a 1-0 lead. St Augustines fought back and could well have levelled or even led by the break with a couple of goalbound efforts saved well by the KLIK keeper, ending the half with plenty of momentum.

After the break the game really became interesting just five minutes in as Saints battled to win the ball in the KLIK box, forced a save from the keeper but Saints were on the follow up to level it at 1-1. But that equaliser was short lived as KLIK immediately went down the other end to slot home their second to make it 2-1. After further missed chances, KLIK doubled their lead with a superbly struck free-kick to make it 3-1. Almost immediately after that goal on the hour, Saints halved the deficit with penalty to make it 3-2. As Saints pushed for a leveller, KLIK held firm and they got themselves a fourth almost on full-time with a close range finish to complete a 4-2 win.

Congratulations to the KLIK side on their achievement on winning this cup competition and to St Augustines for putting in a real sterling performance against tough opposition.
