COUNTY CUP
With weather largely curtailing the weekend's fixture list, one game which did survive was Hatch Lane's trip into south London as they took on Grand Athletic in the London Sunday Challenge Cup at Harris Academy Merton. After surviving the early scare of a goal ruled out, Kevin Bonjanga's left foot drive broke the deadlock before further first half goals put the tie beyond doubt, including an unbelievable lob from Daniel Couldridge, the game ending 4-0.
CHARITY CUP
In the West Essex Sunday Charity Trophy, there was quarter-final action from Oakside where JK Silvertown Reserves were up against higher ranked opposition with Mansfield Rangers the visitors. Rangers raced into a two goal lead only for JK to fight back and level the tie at 2-2 to take the game to a shootout. It was Rangers who then won that, a 5-3 victory earning their side a semi-final later in the season.
