WEEK 25 REVIEW: Round-up of all the Corinthian League action from the weekend

ENDEAVOUR CUP

It took eleven goals to eventually separate Ace Athletics and Newbury Kings in their quarter-final clash, the former eventually confirming a cupset in a 6-5 result. Thomas Mason scored two, Dean Ben-Yosef, Joshua Craske and Bailey Pryce also on target.

SENIOR DIVISION CUP

East London Ballers secured a first win in the group following a 3-1 home victory on Sunday morning against Yeni Bogazici. Salim Nassor, Yousaf Mohamed and Zayshaun Asamoah all found the back of the net in the win for their team.

DIVISION ONE

Woodford Town are top of Division One by a couple of points, maintaining their position following a hard fought 2-1 away win over St Augustines. Aaron Hepworth scored for the Saints with Luke Dimond and Sam May-Parrott notching in reply for Town.

There were three goals also in the game from Newbury Park where it was London Cup finalists, AC Milano Reserves, who benefitted from a 3-0 win, defeating FC Galaxy, a result which maintains their grip on fourth spot.

DIVISION THREE CUP

It was quarter-final day for two sides in the Division Three Cup where a closely fought game between Prospect Protégé and Byron Red Star saw neither defence unlocked across ninety minutes, the game ending goalless. It was Prospect who prevailed in the shootout, winning 3-1 to head into the semi-finals.

DIVISION THREE

Leaders, Turkmenkoy London, were in action with a home clash with Debden Sports Reserves are Noak Hill where it was four unanswered goals from the hosts making the difference in a 4-0 Turkmenkoy win. Deren Kale scored two, Tolu Dina and Riliwan Yusuf with the others.

It ended all square in the division’s other contest as Euro Stars met Stone Town in their game at Parsloes Park, finishing 1-1 with a Kofi Safo goal for Stars and Nasser Ali netting for Town, sharing the spoils.

DIVISION FOUR

May & Baker EC completed their league campaign with a 7-0 win against Cardinals Athletic, with Bakers now waiting on results around them to determine the silverware destination. Shane Redford and Kane Kneller scored twice, Robbie Farrell, Jordan Miller and Alfie Westland with the others.

The side that can still catch them are East End United who continued their chase with a win in a high-scoring away trip to Royal Lions at Hainault Rec. East End were 5-3 winners on the day, leaving them needing six more wins from their remaining games.

Third placed Colebrook Royals A can still impact things in the promotion race and they continued their efforts with a 3-0 home win over East Park Rovers where Daniel O’Toole, Jake Austin and Jonathan Lomotey all struck.

It was five goals in the game between East London Spartans and East London Ballers Under 23s where the former wrapped up their season with a 3-2 victory. Billy Davis, Michael Taylor and Frankie Parsons made the goal scoring contributions, Mohammed Malik and Umar Bbaale striking in reply.

DIVISION FIVE CUP

There was semi-final action in Hainault where Newbury Drive defeated Mansfield Rangers 7-2 to confirm a place in the final. Luke Newbury-Neale scored a hat-trick, Paul Schouwenburg, Billy Happe and Harry Rouse with the others while Jay Kanber and Heritier Lomena scored for Rangers in consolation.

DIVISION FIVE

Double header action from East Ham saw Athletic Newham come from behind to win 3-2 over Young Royals in game one with goals form Jack Field, Mahmoud Yagob and Ronnie Wilson. A more convincing second game saw Newham win 5-0 with Alex Sarkies notching two, Chris Ablitt, Danny Hession-Canham and Sam Owen all scoring.

DIVISION SIX CUP

Quarter-final action came from Hall Lane on Sunday where Emerson & Upminster were up against London Cup finalists, Chingford Athletic, where the latter continued their cup exploits to book a place in the last four, winning 5-0 with a Darryl Wilson hat-trick plus goals from Andre Graham and Michael Mignot.

DIVISION SIX

Back in the league, a Dagenham derby match saw Valence United B up against Gatcliffe at Barking Park where United wrapped up a 3-0 win courtesy of two Jamie Wooster goals and one from Reece Stanley.

The Hainault derby saw Warren United hosting JK Silvertown Reserves at the Rec with the sides combining for eight goals as JK left 5-3 winners in the end, despite Warren goals from Harry Turner and Oliver Regan.

It ended all square in the division’s other fixture from east London where Lonsdale secured a point in their game with Coppice Row, the match ending 2-2 with Klalnti Chotza and Jani Gjergji scoring for the hosts, Adam Young and Tom Wood scoring for Row.

DIVISION SEVEN

Collier Row Under 23s kept the title race alive for one more week at least following a 4-2 win at Romford Bullsharks. Bobby Davis, Amaru Waterman, Lewis Dawes and Chris Kipoy scored the Row goals, Reiss Bradley and George Creedon scoring for Romford.

Zone 4 Athletic moved level with third spot after a successful trip to Forest Row where they defeat Highams Park Rangers by the odd goal in a 3-2 win, Marcos Haley notching his customary goals in a hat-trick performance.

At Chigwell School, it was victory for Barkingside in their game with Hainault Athletic, edging it by the odd goal in three in a 2-1 win. Greg Barteluk scored Hainault with Brooklyn Johnson and Samuel Green efforts proving just enough for ‘Side.

COUNTY CUP

The London Sunday Junior Cup quarter-final tie between AFC Muswell Hill and East London Ballers Reserves finally reached a conclusion at the third attempt, Hill holding off an early Ballers charge to scored twice against the run of play, before adding three more in the second half to win 5-0.

CHARITY CUP

The first West Essex Cup finalist for the season was confirmed on Sunday with Upshire Forest up against AC Milano in their game at Town Mead. A close game was settled by a couple of Milano goals as they ran out 2-0 winners to book their place in the final once again.
