DIVISION TWO

Aside from the weekend’s cup final action, there were a couple of other key matches on Sunday where, in Division Two, Goresbrook and Ferns Seniors met at Warren School in a local derby, both sides keen to improve their finishing position this year. Ferns’ Liam Coney scored against his former club and Perry Whatling also got on the scoresheet but Goresbrook goals from William Cox, Charlie Morris and Alex Duodu completed a 3-2 victory for the sixth placed side.

CHARITY CUP

The remaining semi final was completed on Sunday where Barking & Dagenham Wanderers were up against Belfry for the second time this season, this time with a place in the final of the West Essex Sunday Charity Cup on offer for the victors. Wanderers raced into an early 2-0 lead but Belfry levelled it before the interval. Wanderers hearts were broken yet again in the closing moments of the match as they conceded a third to go down 3-2 and see Belfry progress to the final.
