GROUP A

It was the last day of action in most of our groups and Group A was no exception as East Way Athletic and Secret closed out the group with their clash in Newbury Park. It was East Way who will have been the happier of the two sides by full-time as they came away 5-2 victors to finish fourth in the group.

GROUP B

Game of the day came from Loughton where FC Ballr went into their final game against Kulture Klub knowing that nothing but victory would do and they fell 2-0 down as Klub weathered the storm to take the lead. But FC Ballr wouldn’t go down without a fight and got back level to 2-2 with minutes to go but that was how it ended. That result handed the silverware to Brook Athletic who we congratulate following an excellent run in the competition.

GROUP C

In Group C, while the race for the title was already settled last week, the runners-up spot was still up for grabs and Barking Riverside put themselves in with a shout as they ended Gants Hills’ unbeaten record with a 3-2 victory. Nnanna Okoli, Oussama Bennani and Bukele Mukudi scored the goals but a goal difference deficit saw Panda secure the runners-up spot in the group instead.

There was a seven goal thriller in the other game in the group as Central Colts moved fourth in the final standings on the back of a narrow home win against Barking at Parsloes Park. A brace from Kastriot Vata and  Sachmond Akanovisi effort gave Barking a sniff of a result but Colts scored four of their own to win it 4-3.

GROUP D

The Group D action will go to the final day as Abridge Village kept their hopes alive as they came from 2-0 down against Valentine United to take the points home with them, winning 6-2. Kurt Freeney scored a hat-trick while Leon Adeyemi, Jake Clarke and Aaron Gurney goals rounded off a big win for the hosts.

Theydon moved into second place after recording their third win of the group, coming away as 5-1 winners against Hornchurch Oakmont at Westlands. Ellis Marsh grabbed the Oak goal but efforts proved in vain as braces from Albert Hellen and Harry Andreetti  plus a Dion Bishop goal were the difference between the sides.

In the remaining game in the group, the two sides battling to avoid a sixth place finish came face to face as AC Milano took on FC Galaxy at Castle Green. The game ended in an entertaining 2-2 draw as Robert Puscaru and Mihai Mareniuc both netted for Galaxy to hand them their first point of the competition.

GROUP G

While the title was already settled in Group G, there was still a battle for the runners-up spot on the final day and Monkhams ended the day in the coveted spot as they beat Upshire Forest 6-2. Leighton Hughes-Franklin and Sam Owen both got on the Forest scoresheet but Monkhams’ fine scoring form continued with another six goals of their own to win the game.

Third placed Total Football therefore narrowly missed out on a place on the honours board on goal difference but they did pick up a final day victory with a 1-0 win away at Ainslie to finish their season with some momentum. Adam Gomes scored the only goal of the game for Total to help them to maximum points on the day.
