CORINTHIAN CUP

The first round action from the Corinthian Cup finally came to a conclusion and it will be Kulture Klub in the hat for round two as they picked up a 5-2 win against fellow Premier Division side, Chingford Athletic. James Lee-Legon netted twice for Chingford Klub goals from Liam Adams (2), Dylan Florence, Fidan Fejzi and Marley Sylvester earnt the win.

SENIOR DIVISION

The Corinthian action saw a return on Sunday though with some weather interruption but that wasn’t enough to prevent Hatch Lane opening up a three point lead at the top of the Senior Division as they secured the points in a 3-1 win at home to KLIK. Lucio Vare scored twice and Daniel Rudolph once to cancel out an effort from Ricardo Teixeira.

El Valiente will also be pleased with their efforts post-lockdown as they moved up a couple of places to fifth on the back of a 5-3 home win against East Stars in East Ham. Paul Barry led the way with a hat-trick, Sam Edwards and Aaron Marston the other scorers to send their side to a third league win.

The remaining game was a real thriller as East Way Athletic made the trip to Barkingside to take on Warren United. Warren led through two Alex Yearwood goals and strikes form Ben Rippengale and Harry Carter but East Way scored twice late on to rescue a draw, making the final scoreline 4-4.

PREMIER DIVISION

With the top three out of action, Central Colts took their chance to close the gap with both hands, moving to within two points of the leaders on the back of a 4-1 win at home to Barking & Dagenham Wanderers. Dillan Stephenson, Tunde Olagunju, Jonathan Mogege and Ali Shikheey all struck to carry Colts to the win.

There was also a big win for sixth placed Barking Riverside who picked up a third win of the season in the league as they entertained Panda at Castle Green on Sunday. Bukele Mukudi was in the goals with a hat-trick, adding to efforts from Nnanna Okoli, Oussama Bennani and Hamid Ibrahim in a 6-1 win for their side.

The other game was a six goal thriller at Hainault Rec where an unbeaten Asianos side were the visitors to face Ultimate Vision. The sides combined for a six-goal contest with them both having to share the spoils at 3-3 as two Naeem Monsur efforts and one from Yaaseen Patel were levelled by Vision goals from Tim Conroy, Joe Oates and Reece Tranter.

DIVISION ONE

Gants Hill were the biggest winners of the day in Division One as they picked up an 8-0 win on their return against Korona Redbridge, moving to within a point of the summit. That result saw the East Ham based side secure a fourth win in five as they look to pick up their promotion push following the enforced break.

Leaders Oceana remain a point clear of the chasers but had to settle for a share of the points on Sunday as they leapt over the hedge to face Goresbrook at Hainault Rec. Leading through goals from Lewis Belcher and Jesse Jones, they were pegged back late on with Josh Keeble and Jack Sawyer efforts for the hosts making it 2-2 at full time.

Wanstead Albion will have been pleased with their morning’s work as they battled hard to edge a five-goal contest with Valentine United at the Flats. Jake Fenton and Lloyd John scored the United goals but Daniel Bazely, Max Catherall and Aidan Bailey goals secured a first win of the season for Albion, 3-2.

The division’s remaining game came from West Ham Park where Hornchurch Oakmont made the trip to face AC Milano with both sides keen to improve on their present positions. And by full-time they had to settle for a share of the spoils with the game ending 1-1, Lewis Minton netting the Oak goal to move them closer to safety at the bottom end of the table.

DIVISION TWO

There were plenty of goals in Division Two and game of the day came from Beckton as the top two unbeaten sides met, Thames Ironworks Community and FC Galaxy. But it will be the latter who came away the happier of the teams with Mihai Gherasim and Luchian Grigore goals paving the way to a 2-1 win, Harry Jones netting the Thames consolation.

Goals rained down in Waltham Abbey as Chigwell United hosted Chingford Athletic A in a local derby with the sides combining for nine goals on the day. Chigwell will have thought they had picked up their first point of the season as Charlie Cole, Bobby Wise and Taylor McLaughlin netted but a late Chingford goal edged them over the line to a 5-4 win.

There was a good morning’s work for Emerson Park who picked up a second league win as they entertained FC Mexico A, Park starting three points behind their opponents. By full-time, they were level on points with Emerson winning it 4-1 to move just above the Mexicans on goal difference.

There was a real six-pointer at the very bottom of the standings as two of the winless clubs in the division, Frenford and St Augustines, met at The Drive to both try and reignite their seasons. Fresh off the back of their cup final defeat, the Saints put that firmly to the back of their minds to win 4-1 with Matthew Scarsbrook and Tajh Rufai both netting braces.

DIVISION THREE

Division Three was another flood of goalscoring with Eastbrook United maintaining their lead at the top following a battle with Monkhams. They came through the game in a 3-2 victory with Corey Tomlin, Heavenly Bende and Luke Gelston netting the all important goals, that confirming an impressive seventh league win in eight so far this season.

Roneo Colts sit second and will hope to be in the frame for promotion this year and they reignited their campaign with a 9-0 win at home to Blackwall Rovers in Dagenham. Dwayne Francis-Riley scored four of the goals, Rob Kilminster bagged a brace and further efforts from Keenan Gravillis, Chris Crowe and Kane White completed the win.

Third place remains in the hands of FC Mexico B who had a tough fixture on their return with fifth placed Bretons Manor making the journey to Hainault. But the Mexicans put in a sterling effort on the day to take all three points, overcoming a Greg Bowles goal for Manor to win the contest 5-1.

Alpha took advantage of those results around them to move up to fourth in the table, picking up a fourth league win of the campaign as they returned home with the points in a 6-2 win against Jaffna. Chris Wilby was in great form as he scored a hat-trick while Kyran Chiedozie netted two and Roy Edmans once to round off the win. Rajivan Kanthasamy and Deluxchan Thursiyaanthan netted the consolation goals for the hosts.

Making it a hat-trick of sides sitting on twelve points, Ainslie now also sit just three points off the promotion places after they came away with a 4-1 win against winless Lonsdale. Kalium Fletcher got on the Lonsdale scoresheet but his efforts were in vain as Harry Overton netted twice and one each from Kailem Gayle and Jay Dignance completed the result for Ainslie.

DIVISION FOUR

The Division Four race continues to excite and Theydon Green were able to move third on Sunday, five points off the lead as they went goal crazy at home against Titans United. Braces from Sam Barrett, George Johnson, Ben Harris and Tommy Redhead led the way while further goals came from Harry Barrett, Noah Friend, Ben Brookes and Callum Carr in a 12-1 victory.

Upshire Forest missed the chance to fully take advantage of the results of others but did secure another point against Leytonstone Athletic, extending their unbeaten record to eight games in the process. Oliver Campbell and Tom Lawn scored their goals while the experienced Bradley O’Donovan and Jake Hubbard netted the Athletic goals in reply in a 2-2 draw.

Total Football gave themselves a hope of being involved in the promotion matters once again with a terrific performance at home against second placed Cobra. Total were quick out of the blocks and saw Jonathan Bluff net a hat-trick while Nile Painter scored a brace, Chris Atkinson and Adam Gomes bagging singles to round off a 7-0 win on the day.

Moving into mid-table, Romford Athletic Dons will have been pleased with their morning’s work as they picked up a third league win in seven, running out 5-2 victors at home against Eastern Avenue. Tom Mitchell (2), Scott Buckland and Sean Hewitt were the goal scorers to help their team to maximum points.

And United Amateurs will also be happy with their efforts too as they faced off with Young Royals with the two sides both looking for their first points of the campaign. Those went to United on Sunday as Mohamed Mansaray, Jack Chawner and Connor Bentley efforts saw them to a 3-1 victory and out of the relegation zone.

DIVISION FIVE

Game of the day in Division Five came from Hainault where Royal Lions were up against Valence United with just two points keeping those teams apart prior to kick-off. But Lions put in an impressive performance to win 4-0, thus picking up a sixth league win in eight so far this year in chase of the league leaders.

Those leaders are Dagenham Rangers who sit top after eight games and stayed there on the back of a closely fought victory at home against Tekkers Vets. Kareem Imbert and Liam Baptiste both scored for the visitors but those efforts proved not quite enough as Rangers scored three of their own to win the game 3-2.

That result also enabled Colebrook Royals to move away from the relegation zone after they held Stow Rovers to a draw at The Grange. Blain Killoran and Andrew Davis each netted for Rovers but Royal goals from Paul Noonan and Joe Cole made sure that the two teams took a point apiece in a 2-2 scoreline.

And that scoreline was reflected over in Walthamstow where Custom House Community made the trip up to face Ping City Phoenixes at Low Hall. There was little between these sides in the table pre-match and it remained that way by full-time as the teams battled to their own 2-2 result.

DIVISION SIX

Barking Reserves maintained their five point lead at the top of Division Six as they returned home from their trip to Mansfield Rangers with all three points in a 4-1 result. Mofiyinfoluwa Ojolowo netted two while Ethan Javier and Alfie Bellotti scored one each to render a Jack Cousins effort as just consolation for the hosts.

One of the close rivals for the title are East Tilbury Town and they kept well in hunt for honours with a 4-1 win of their own against Royal Lions Reserves at Old Dagenham Park on Sunday. Danny Crandle, Roberto Rosero, Luke Taylor and Bobby Rusbridge goals were the difference between the sides to give Town the victory.

Sitting third are now Thames Ironworks Community Reserves who took advantage of results around them to shift into nose-bleed territory, earning that on the back of a 2-0 away win at Woodford Green United. Sam Galer and Kurtis Smith grabbed the all-important goals to take the win and apply pressure on the leaders.

Epping Royals have made good ground in the table and are now up to fourth on the back of another win for their account, securing a 4-0 away win at Ilford County. Joseph Bothwell scored twice and one each for Louie Brownlie and Matthew Winter carried Royals to within just a point of the promotion places, such is the tightness of the competition at the top end of the standings.
