TROPHYLAND CUP
There was a cupset in the Trophyland Cup as Division Five high-flyers, Ping City Phoenixes, took out higher ranked opposition with a 4-1 win away at Cardinals Athletic with Phil Herman scoring two, Ezra Waterman and Harrison Green the others.
ENDEAVOUR CUP
The Endeavour Cup also saw a shock of sorts with the table turned on it’s head, tenth placed Coppice Row putting an end to league leaders, Legacy City’s run in the competition in a 2-0 scoreline as Matheus de Lima grabbed both Row goals.
SENIOR DIVISION
Brook Athletic secured all three points in their game against Colebrook Royals, Philip Hornby and Ned Ozkasim goals not quite enough in the end as Shomari Barnwell’s brace and goals from Mitchell Collymore and Zivonimir Lopes made it a 4-2 Brook win.
DIVISION ONE
Repton Park have returned to top spot following the weekend’s results, making it four wins in five this season following a 4-1 away victory against Woodford Town, despite a Bryan Okoye effort for the hosts.
That result also enabled FC Galaxy to move up into third spot in the standings as they took home all three points from Newbury Park after a 3-1 victory over St Augustines. Aaron Glasgow scored for Saints but visitor goals from Andrei Cazacu, Ioan Ghintu and Vlad Sirbu proved crucial.
There was a five-goal thriller in Barkingside as Critics and Daglanta battled hard but it was the latter leaving with the points in a 3-2 success, a second Daglanta league win of the season that moves them into sixth place.
The other game from the division pitted unbeaten JK Silvertown against AC Milano Reserves in Newbury Park and it proved to be a tight contest, the points eventually shared in a 1-1 draw with Gosling Jenkins’ effort keeping JK’s unbeaten record intact.
DIVISION THREE
South Ilford Catholics have become a third team to share the lead in the Division Three table, moving to fifteen points and top by a single goal following a 2-0 home success on Sunday against a Euro Stars side, that being the hosts fifth win in six.
There was a shift up the table for Romford Town Flyers also as they took all three points after a 4-1 home success against Old Esthameians Under 23s. Bubacarr Touray’s brace and efforts from Lloyd Ross and Clinton Oduku done the damage with Suhayb Aftab netting for E’s.
DIVISION FOUR
It remains tight at the top of Division Four where May & Baker EC remain a point clear following a 3-0 away victory on Sunday against East London Spartans courtesy of two Alex Paraskeva goals and one from Shane Hovell.
Valence United A continue to keep up the pace in the chasing positions, their trip to Hainault proving a fruitful one as they netted a 3-2 win against Royal Lions with Rowan Newland increasing his scoring record with a hat-trick.
With games in hand, East End United and well poised to make their own challenge and sit third following a seven-goal thriller against East Park Rovers, United 4-3 winners through goals from Mike Elsmore, Tye Gittos, Eden Nelson and David Ogbechie.
Over in Chigwell, there was another tight contest between fourth placed Colebrook Royals A and their East London Ballers Under 23s counterparts. A single Harvey Webb goal was just enough for Royals to net the three points and send Ballers to a first league defeat.
DIVISION FIVE
Epping Town have moved six points clear in the table following a sixth win of the season on Sunday, returning home from east London with all three points in a 3-1 victory over Mansfield Rangers, Joseph Bothwell scoring two and Tim Crossland one. Brandon Dillon netted the Rangers goal in reply.
The biggest winners of the day were London Legacy who put fourteen goals away in a 14-4 home victory over May & Baker EC Reserves. The experienced Charlie Saywood scored four, Lucas Tavares scored three, Mohamed Noor, Anderson Santos and Djabir Kadri two each and Charlie Cole the other.
Asianos moved out of the relegation zone and above their opponents from Sunday, United Amateurs, earning a 4-1 home win at Low Hall Sports Ground. Klajdi Davi scored for the visitors but that proved in vain in the end as the hosts took the points.
The final game from the division ended in a high-scoring draw with Young Royals taking the first league points off Newbury Drive this season in a 3-3 draw. Sujiven Jeyaratnam, Millensebas Montfort and Raj Vijay struck for Royals with Billy Happe netting two and Graham Bryan one for Drive.
DIVISION SIX
Gatcliffe were the biggest winners in Division Six on Sunday, earning all three points from their local derby contest with Valence United B in a 5-1 scoreline. Nico Bunduku, Owen Woodhouse, Dane Young, Donte Auguste and Devante Samuel struck for the hosts with Tyler Cook scoring the United goal in reply.
There was a seven-goal thriller at Robert Clack where Newroe United and Emerson & Upminster needed the odd goal to separate them with Daniel Hind, Archie Larkin, Alfie Webb and Charlie Monaghan goals giving Emerson a 4-3 win.
It ended locked at 2-2 in Debden as Chingford Athletic and Newbury Kings couldn’t be separated in a close game. Serjan Culaj and Darryl Wilson both found the back of the Newbury net but two visitor goals meant the sides shared the spoils.
That was the same scoreline in the division’s other game as JK Silvertown Reserves hosted a Lonsdale side with the game ending 2-2. Joey Chapman and Bobby Rusbridge scored for JK with Klalnti Chotza and Eraldo Quni responding for the visitors.
DIVISION SEVEN
The goals were flowing in Division Seven, beginning with a big win for Hainault Athletic who netted themselves a 6-2 home victory against Barkingside courtesy of Luke Sutcliff’s hat-trick and goals from Wasiu Lawal, Graham Stevenson and Tyrone Collier. Samuel Green and Gabriel Morlova scored the ‘Side goals.
There was a return to winning form for Collier Row Under 23s who edged a seven-goal thriller 4-3 with Highams Park Rangers in the Forest Row derby. Frankie Mowle’s double and others from Bobby Davis and Charlie Gander led the way, overcoming Rangers goals from Jay Grant, Daniel Francis and Frankie Westland.
Zachary Bussell was the hero for Romford Bullsharks, netting all four goals for his side in a narrow 4-3 win against United Amateurs Reserves at Hainault Rec, rendering United goals from Thomas O’Connell, Alfie Green and Ashley Branch as just consolation.
The weekend also saw the leaders, Ace Athletics, drop points for the first time as they were held to a 3-3 draw against third placed Zone 4 Athletic. Anthony Coker scored two and Teraun Davis the other for Zone with Dean Ben-Yosef, Riley Boyce and Thomas Mason levelling for Ace.
FA SUNDAY CUP
Baiteze Squad and East London Ballers produced a hard-fought contest in the FA Sunday Cup at Parsloes Park with Ballers taking an early lead before a stunning Baiteze leveller before the break. A second half Ballers goal was enough to win it 2-1, sending them to FC Broxbourne next month.
Earlier in the day, Mayesbrook Park was the venue to the tie between AC Milano and Broadfields United in another thriller of a game in which the teams had traded goals throughout with it ending 2-2. Milano held their nerve in the shootout to win 4-2 and book a third round tie against Boundary Estate.
There was one exit from the competition at the second round stage as North Surrey League side Shire United made the trip around the M25 to take on Hatch Lane at Parsloes. Hatch had led in the early stages but the opposition grew into the game to take control and prevailed in a 4-1 scoreline.
COUNTY CUP
There were a number of strong performances from league clubs in the Essex Junior Cup, beginning with a local derby game as Endurance Athletics took out higher ranked opposition, beating Langley Rovers in a 4-1 scoreline.
There was another cupset involving a Harlow League side as Phoenix Rovers were beaten by a Debden Sports Reserves side from two divisions below them, Debden moving into round three with a hard fought 1-0 win.
Colebrook Royals Reserves also had another impressive win over Harlow opposition, sending Newhall Rangers Reserves to a first defeat of the season in a 3-1 scoreline as Colebrook kept themselves in the hat.
Another scalp of a higher ranked side was taken with CSM London defeating Brentwood Sunday League Division One side Bakers693, CSM moving through to the next round following a 2-0 away victory.
Singh Sabha Barking were the fifth side to take a win against higher ranked opposition, the Newbury Park side through to the next round following a comfortable looking 3-0 home victory over Collier Row on Sunday.
The trend of wins for lower ranked sides continued at Wanstead Flats where Stone Town overcame a division deficit in their tie against Warren Senior, the sides finishing 0-0 after extra-time before Stone won the shootout 4-1 to progress on.
There was an interesting tie at Hylands Park where two high-flying Division Three sides, Byron Red Star and Prospect Protégé met in the county cup. They couldn’t be separated until extra time, a Byron goal in the extra thirty minutes giving them a 2-1 win.
It was another all-Corinthian match at Castle Green where Condor Reserves were hosting fellow Division Three side, Manford Way. It was the visitors, Manford, who left the happier of the teams after a 4-0 win to head into round three.
A week is a long time in football, as proved in the tie at Harold Wood Athletic Reserves where Barking & Dagenham Wanderers, victorious over Wood’s first team last weekend, losing out this time in extra-time, 3-1 the final scoreline.
Northbrooks saw their run in the competition end at the round two stage after they had come up against Brentwood League Division One leaders, Sporting Club Ongar. It was Sporting who took the win, 3-1 the final scoreline.
CHARITY CUP
In the West Essex Sunday Charity Trophy, Athletic Newham were up against an unbeaten Flamengo side from the Hackney & Leyton League, Newham overcoming a three division deficit to take a quarter-final place following a 3-2 victory.
