SENIOR DIVISION
The weekend’s sole top flight action saw a close game at Parsloes Park where Baiteze Squad were up against AC Milano. Jamil Shariffu struck for the hosts but two AC goals proved just enough for the visitors to win in 2-1 and take home the points.
DIVISION ONE
It was also a successful morning for AC Milano Reserves as they travelled across to Dagenham too to take on FC Galaxy in their game at Castle Green. A couple of AC goals proved enough in the end, that enough for them to win their third league game of the season.
DIVISION TWO
A cracker of a game at Robert Clack pitted Warren Senior up against hosts Barking & Dagenham Wanderers with the visitors racing into a lead, only for Wanderers to battle back and take a 4-4 draw with Anthony Bonsu’s hat-trick proving pivotal along with a Harvi Shehi goal.
DIVISION THREE
The biggest winners in Division Three on Sunday were Euro Stars who produced their second league win of the season with a 5-1 success against Debden Sports Reserves, overcoming a George Scott goal for Sports with Spencer Williams’ hat-trick and two from Abdullaziz Malin.
There was a crucial win also for fifth placed Turkmenkoy who moved onto seventeen points following a 2-0 home win against second placed South Ilford Catholics with Suat Erdogan and Deren Kale scoring the goals.
Winning by the same scoreline were Romford Town Flyers who struck twice in the second half to defeat another of the high-flying sides in the division, Prospect Protégé beaten 2-0. Kane Ledeatte and Patrick Kizito scored the goals for the hosts to give them the win.
Those results all mean that Stone Town could make up ground on the teams above them with a win and they duly obliged, beating Old Esthameians Under 23s in a 4-1 scoreline, Olawale Kareem scoring for E’s in consolation.
DIVISION FOUR
A seven-goal thriller at Castle Green saw Colebrook Royals A edge their way to three points, scoring the odd goal in a 4-3 away win against Cardinals Athletic as Arthur Massingham netted two and James Deaney one.
East London Spartans continued their strong recent form as they came out on the right side of a five-goal game against Eastern Avenue at Wanstead Flats, Michael Taylor scoring two and Olly McGill one in the 3-2 win. Paulius Olisauskas and Matthew Hunt netted for Avenue in reply.
DIVISION FIVE
Goals were flowing in Division Five as an incredible game at Hainault Rec saw United Amateurs draw 5-5 with Ping City Phoenixes. Jack Chawner (2), Honest Agbonifo, Joshua Coleman and Thomas O’Connell struck for United with Jack Flood’s quartet of goals and Harrison Riley levelling it for City.
There were just the eight goals in the other game from the division as Newbury Drive travelled into east London to take on Alpha at the Flats. And it was Newbury who enjoyed their “Drive” home more so, winning 7-1 to leap above their opponents and keep themselves in control of the title race.
DIVISION SIX
Gatcliffe were in fine scoring form on Sunday in their 8-1 home win against Emerson & Upminster as goals from Tom Brown, Codi Wackett, Alfie Jones, Owen Woodhouse, Devante Samuel, Dane Young, Donte Auguste and Ben North done the damage, Charlie Monaghan netting for Emerson in reply.
Over in Chigwell, there were just the six goals in the game between Coppice Row and Newbury Kings which saw the former leave the happier, Row 4-2 winners on the day courtesy of two Matheus de Lima goals and one from Tom Wood.
DIVISION SEVEN
Collier Row Under 23s continued their promotion push, remaining in second spot after a terrific 5-0 away win against an in-form Hainault Athletic side. Ernest Peka scored two off the bench with Samuel Banks, Frankie Mowle and Alfie George also on the scoresheet.
With a game in hand, third placed Zone 4 Athletic will hope they’re amongst the promotion race later in the season and continued their efforts with a 4-1 home win, overcoming Zac Bussell’s goal for Romford Bullsharks with two Marcos Haley efforts and one each from Sanchez Myrie and Toby Doyle.
COUNTY CUP
Upshire Forest saw their run in the Essex Premier Cup come to a conclusion but not without a fight, taking the higher-ranked CFC Shalford to penalties after a 2-2 draw, before succumbing in the shootout 4-3.
Over at Fords Newbury Park, it was a tough outing for Yeni Bogazici who saw their maiden run in the Essex Cup reach a conclusion at the round three stage, Tiptree Jobserve proving a hurdle too far with the visitors winning 4-1.
In the London Sunday Junior Cup, it was an all-Corinthian battle with Division Two rivals, East London Ballers Reserves edging a tight game by the odd goal in seven against Benchviews, sending Ballers through to round four.
The league will also have representation in round four of the London Sunday Junior Shield as Young Royals made their way across the river to Springhill United Blues and left with the win, winning the tie 3-2 to head on into the quarter-finals.
