ENDEAVOUR CUP

The weekend's sole league cup action came in a Dagenham derby fixture as London Legacy faced a high-flying Valence United C side from Division Seven at Parsloes Park . There was little between the sides as Hamza Espinosa's goal for the hosts was equalled by a Reece Stanley effort, the game ending 1-1 at full-time. It was Legacy who held their nerve in the shootout to win that 4-2 and head into the quarter-finals.

SENIOR DIVISION

In the top flight, the sole league action came from east London where Club 1017 were the hosts, taking on Baiteze Squad as both sides fought to move up the table. But it was Baiteze leaving with the honours on the day, the reigning champions picking up a first league win, 4-1 the scoreline, to keep in touch with matters above them in the standings.

DIVISION ONE

In Division One, Roose remain top of the table but saw their lead cut to a single point after the weekend's results, earning a point apiece in the game away at St Augustines as the sides finished locked at 2-2. James Edelman and Taylah Cunningham scored the Saints goals to earn their side a valuable point which sees them sit fourth after nine games.

That result enabled Barking Riverside to make up some ground on the teams above them and they duly obliged by edging a close encounter against Total Football in Dagenham. Ryan Gardiner struck twice and Ahmed Momoh netted the other for Barking to hand them a 3-2 win, moving up into fifth spot in the tables.

DIVISION TWO

The big result in Division Two came from Whitbreads as Upshire Forest pulled off a big win to defeat the previous league leaders, Woodford Town. Two goals from Leighton Hughes-Franklin and a Reggie Pegrum effort for the visitors saw them walk away 3-2 winners, overcomingTown goals from Sam May-Parrott and Luke Dimond.

The highest scorers in the divsiion were Daglanta who battled their way through an eight-goal thriller against Barking & Dagenham Wanderers at Robert Clack to net themselves an important win that shifts them into third spot. Daglanta were 5-3 winners as Eric Sowonola scored two, Hamdan Ashimi, Bradley Ismaili and Andy Morris adding the others while Elie Fanga (2) and Deji Akinyemi both struck for Wanderers in consolation.

Also shifting up the table were Singh Sabha Barking who moved fourth on the back of a fourth league success this season, coming out on the right side of a five goal contest with Stone Town in Newbury Park. Barking picked up a 3-2 win by full-time to keep them chances of promotion in the mixer.

DIVISION THREE

Leytonstone Athletic blew their way to a huge win in Division Three against their local derby rivals, South Ilford Catholics, netting twelve in an emphatic 12-1 success. Reece Simpson scored five, Lee Harris netted a hat-trick, George Burton struck twice with Harry Burton and Zayd Hameed firing in the others to complete a resounding victory.

That result also meant that Colebrook Royals Reserves made a climb into second spot, taking advantage of results around them to earn a fourth win of the campaign after a 4-1 home victory against Romford Town Flyers. Brandon Fulton was the difference between teh sides with a hat-trick, Jordan Rock adding the other, while Callum Adamson scored the Flyers goal in reply.

Sitting third in the table are Woodford Town Reserves who also secured a fourth league win of the season, making the most of their first half wind advantage at Hainault Rec to score both goals in a 2-0 win away at United Amateurs. Mason Strevens and Conor Medhurst scored the Town goals and then they held out in the second half to complete the win.

The fourth and final game from the division was another goal-filled contest as Warren Senior took on Ainslie at Westlands in tough conditions. The two sides had to settle for a point apiece in a 3-3 draw as Jack Glenister's brace and a George Breen strike was equalled by Ryan Radley's double and a Tom Carter effort for Ainslie.

DIVISION FOUR

Manford Way have moved into a four point lead at the top of Division Four following Sunday's results after making no mistake against bottom of the table East End United, winning 7-0 in Hainault. Emmanuel Alo was on fire with four goals for the visitors and Archie Kieran extended his scoring record by two more as Prospect walked away with a 6-2 win under their belts.

DIVISION FIVE

The race for the title in Division Five goes in with a number of sides in the mix as leaders Epping Town saw their lead at the top cut on Sunday as Lonsdale recovered to take a point in a 3-3 draw at Stonards Hill. Two Joseph Bothwell goals and a Luke Robinson effort looked to be sending Town to another win but Kalium Fletcher, Charlie Owen and Eldin Pateriku goals for Lonsdale changed that outcome.

That result means that Romford Rovers now sit just two points off the pace, continuing their great run on Sunday with a 4-0 home win against Young Royals at Love Lane. Sam Wilson bagged a brace, joining Joe Hack and Frankie Westland onto the scoresheet to confirm a sixth league win of the season.

Despite starting the day three points behind their opponents, May & Baker EC ended up levelling up matters with a big win against Chingford Athletic, making it a memorable morning in Waltham Abbey on the back of a 7-1 away victory. Justin Clarke scored for the hosts but Alex Paraskeva's hat-trick, two from Robbie Norris and one apiece from Josh Russell and Jordan Miller meant Bakers took the honours.

Valence United B were back into winning ways to stay well in the promotion mix themselves, racking up win number four in the league this season with a big away win against Athletic Newham in East Ham. A goal apiece from Tommy Abrams, Enzo Victoriano, Ayomide Ibuola and Rowan Newland proved too much in east London and Valence walked away 4-0 winners.

Alpha are out of the bottom two places in the table following Sunday's results, moving up into eighth spot after a solid 4-2 home win against bottom side Legacy City at Wanstead Flats. That was just a second league success for the east Londoners, moving two points clear of the danger zone at the foot of the table.

DIVISION SIX

In Division Six, the biggest winners of the day were Hainault Athletic, making a successful trip along Forest Road to earn all three points in a 5-1 scoreline at FC Mexico. A goal apiece from Matthew Baxter, Corey Richardson, Luke Barrow, Lewis McCarthy and Ryan Stacey proved more than enough, Alex O’Halloran’s strike netting Mexico’s consolation.

There was a hugely important win also for JK Silvertown Reserves who pulled off one of their better wins of the season, scoring the game’s only goal in a 1-0 success at Colebrook Royals A. Daniel Longland was the player netting that all important goal to make it four wins for the season.

A five-goal thriller rounds off the action from the division where Inter Newbury closed the gap on the sides towards the bottom of the table after a second league win of the year, beating Ace Athletics 3-2. Joshua Craske and Thomas Mason both scored for Ace but those proved just consolation by the end.

DIVISION SEVEN

Game of the day in Division Seven saw two of the front-runners meet at Hainault Rec where Emerson & Upminster got themselves into a two-goal lead against Warren United. But the wind proved to be an important factor, Warren levelling the game but Emerson leading once again shortly after. But Warren fought back yet again to score three and run out 5-3 winners.

There were nine goals in the game at Old Dagenham Park where Gatcliffe racked up another win for their record this season, ending on the right side of a 6-3 scoreline against Zone 4 Athletic. Jamie Brown, Luke Paites and Daniel Munroe all struck for Zone and Gatcliffe were indebted to their substitutes as Ben North and Devante Samuel scored twice each, Owen Woodhouse and Nico Bunduku striking the others.

In the division’s third game, the late kick-off saw Romford Bullsharks make the trip to Hainault to face United Amateurs Reserves. George Creedon scored twice for Romford but two James Edwards efforts in reply and a Kenri Noka goal meant it was United walking away 3-2 winners from a close contest.

In the Essex Sunday Premier Cup, JK Silvertown overcame higher ranked opposition in East Ham to earn their place in round four, needing extra time to defeat Harlow League side Parsloe United in a 3-2 scoreline.

It was defeat for Division One’s Critics however, losing narrowly to higher ranked opponents, trekking up the M11 to Harlow to face Primos Mineiro. It took just a single goal to separate the sides and that went to the hosts on this occasion.

Also making an exit from the competition were East London Ballers who struggled against south Essex opposition, suffering the away day blues in a 3-2 defeat at Railway Academicals down in Southend.

In the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy, Barking Colts had a big task on their hands as they travelled to a side placed five divisions above them, taking on Rainham Working Mens Club. The game ended in an 8-0 scoreline in favour of Rainham as they headed through.
