ENDEAVOUR CUP

The quarter-final line up for the Endeavour Cup is now complete and Lonsdale joined those ranks following a 5-2 win on Sunday over Zone 4 Athletic. Klalnti Chotza’s hat-trick and one each from Roxhersi Arapi and Ylli Shahinaj proved enough, Teraun Davis and Marcos Haley striking for Zone.

DIVISION ONE

Woodford Town have moved to within a point of the leaders in Division One, their game against St Augustines seeing just a single goal in a 1-0 Town success, secured from the boot of Sam May-Parrott in Newbury Park.

The other game from the division came from Barkingside and saw FC Galaxy taking on hosts Critics. A goal apiece from Mihai Cristea, Andrei Cazacu and Mihai Mareniuc proved too much and gave Galaxy a 3-0 win to take home.

DIVISION THREE

Turkmenkoy London took advantage of results around them to move top of Division Three, edging a seven goal thriller against Romford Town Flyers 4-3 with winning goals from Deren Kale, Axel-Julian Kitoko, Brookly Marku and Alvaro Brahilika.

There was a first win of the new season for Old Esthameians Under 23s who took some pressure off themselves with a thumping 7-1 win over Euro Stars as Suhayb Aftab rattled in four goals, Milo Guillore and Christopher Green-Watson adding two each. Abbas Osman scored for Stars in reply.

An incredible game at Castle Green couldn’t separate the sides after ten goals between Condor Reserves and Prospect Protégé, ending 5-5 by the conclusion. Tyler Alexander scored two for Prospect with Tommy Burke, Sipho Nyoni and Donovan Wright adding the others to take a point.

DIVISION FOUR

May & Baker EC extended their lead in Division Four, reaching the halfway mark in their season following a 3-1 away victory over third placed Colebrook Royals A, Jonathan Lomotey scoring the Royals’ goal in consolation.

There was a first win of the season for ninth placed Royal Lions who edged a close game by the odd goal, beating an East Park Rovers side sat eight points ahead of them at the start of the day, 3-2 in Hainault.

DIVISION FIVE

Three sides share the lead in Division Five where Newbury Drive moved level with leaders, Epping Town, following a hard fought 3-1 home win against London Legacy. Charlie Saywood struck for Legacy but two Jack Newbury-Neale efforts and one from Graham Bryan made it a Drive win.

Another side also level on nineteen points at the top are Alpha, coming out on the right side of an eight goal game with Ping City Phoenixes, 5-3 winners courtesy of two goals from Kai Brown and one each from Connor Wallace, Tafari Miller and Khalon Haysman.

It ended all square in a cracker of a game in east London where Athletic Newham and United Amateurs couldn’t be separated in a 4-4 draw. A Karl Brolly brace plus one each from Jamie Brandon and Carl Day were equalled by a United hat-trick from Thomas Chawner and Saidu Koroma’s goal.

DIVISION SIX

Gatcliffe continue as the leaders in Division Six, making it eight wins for the season in a 5-3 away success over Newbury Kings in the Dagenham derby. Nico Bunduku scored two, Codi Wackett, Devante Samuel and Dane Young adding the others.

There was a big win for sixth placed Valence United B who picked up win number three for the season with a 6-1 away victory over Newroe United. Jahsiah Weekes and Jordan Cook both scored twice, Rasheed Fasanya and Michael O’Brien with the others.

Sitting on the same points, JK Silvertown Reserves are in seventh and kept their position following a 3-1 away victory over Emerson & Upminster, Steven Starkey scoring two and Joey May one, Oliver Morgan responding for Emerson.

It ended all square in the game from Hainault where Warren United and Coppice Row had to settle for a share of the spoils in a 4-4 draw. Oliver Regan scored two, Teddy Good and Aidan Butler one each with Matheus de Lima’s brace, Tom Wood and Dan Joseph goals netting for Coppice.

DIVISION SEVEN

The game between first and second saw the points shared as Collier Row Under 23s and Ace Athletics finished 3-3 at Forest Row. Frankie Mowle scored two and Charlie Gander one for Row with Joshua Craske, Bailey Pryce and Thomas Mason responding for Ace.

That result enabled Hainault Athletic to make up some ground on the promotion places as they produced a fourth win of the season, beating Barking Colts 3-0 through goals from Luke Sutcliff, Terry Downing and Wasiu Lawal.

The final game from the division also came from Hainault where United Amateurs Reserves were in home action with the visit of Rush Green Rangers, a game which ended locked at 2-2. Tyler Junior and Thomas O’Connell struck for United with Aaron Anthony and Darkwah Saaed scoring for Rangers.

COUNTY CUP

In the Essex Sunday Premier Cup, the rearranged third round clash saw East London Ballers heading down the A13 to take on South East Sports, returning with a fourth round spot confirmed following a 4-2 success.

In the Essex Sunday Junior Cup, Division Three’s Byron Red Star overcame higher ranked opposition at Hylands Park, defeating Harlow Sunday League side Parsloes United in a 2-1 to book a place in round four.

Also through against higher ranked opposition were Colebrook Royals Reserves who triumphed in Barkingside against Brays Athletic to take their place in draw for the last sixteen in January, Royals scoring the game’s only goal in a 1-0 win.

A topsy-turvy game down in Billericay saw Manford Way lead in the second half against Hannakins Farm, only for the hosts to respond well and produce a comeback win, Hannakins winning the game 4-2 in the end.

It needed an extra thirty minutes in the game in Newbury Park where Singh Sabha Barking were up against Merlin United in a game which was 2-2 at ninety minutes. Merlin conjured up the winner however in extra-time to put themselves through 3-2.

Over in Harlow, Endurance Athletics saw their maiden county cup campaign reach a conclusion at Northbrooks as Harold Wood Athletic Reserves continued their run, the visitors leaving the happier after a 5-2 success.

It was a disappointing outing also for CSM London who had home advantage in their tie against Alliance Southend, the visitors’ trip back home along the A13 feeling the better as they won the game 4-0 at The Foundry.

It was mixed results for our clubs in the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy as Mansfield Rangers travelled down to an Alves side ranked two divisions higher, forcing the game to penalties after a 1-1 draw by the end of extra-time. Rangers held their nerve to win the shootout 3-1 and progress.

Over in Rainham, Romford Bullsharks’ best run in the competition came to end at the last thirty-two stage at the hands of another south Essex side with Thames United leaving with a place in round four after a 4-2 victory.

The London Sunday Challenge Cup saw a couple of reverses for league sides with AC Milano’s home clash with Highgate & Muswell Hill seeing the hosts exit the competition, Highgate winning the tie 2-0 in Newbury Park.

Over in north London, Brook Athletic had a tough assignment ahead of them with a trip to take on Olympia. It was the hosts who left the happier of the two teams, 4-1 the final scoreline in favour of Olympia.

It was a better outcome for sides in the other London competitions, beginning in the London Sunday Trophy as AC Milano Reserves booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 4-2 home win over Ashtead Athletic Green.

Also progressing on in the capital’s Junior Cup, East End United prevailed from their all-league tie away at East London Ballers Under 23s to reach the last sixteen stage, United winning what proved to be a close tie, 2-1.

The league will have two quarter-finalists in the London Sunday Junior Shield as Chingford Athletic progressed through into the last eight with a 3-2 away day victory over Kew Antigua B to extend their participation in the competition.

CHARITY CUP

The first semi-finalists of the season were confirmed on Sunday, the West Essex Sunday Charity Cup seeing Upshire Forest progress into the last four with a terrific 10-1 home win over Brentwood Sunday League side Zone 4.
