Over at Westlands, it was just the eight goals in the game between Romford Town Flyers and Euro Stars with Stars performing on the day to win 5-3, Abdullaziz Malin’s hat-trick pivotal alongside Hussein Hassan and Spencer Williams goals. Harry Glenister scored two and Ethan Grodent one in reply.

It was a five-goal thriller involving the league leaders as Turkmenkoy London’s trip to east London saw them leave with three points against Stone Town as Jo Magege and Huseyin Top goals led Turkmenkoy to a hard fought 3-2 victory.

FA SUNDAY CUP

It was third round day in the FA Sunday Cup and East London Ballers had a trip around the M25 in the early kick-off, finding the net seven times in their clash with FC Broxbourne to win 7-3 and confirm a mouth watering trip to Highgate Albion in the last sixteen.

COUNTY CUP

Those positive performances continued into the Essex Junior Trophy where Chingford Athletic pulled off yet another spectacular win against an unbeaten side, beating a Maldon Saints side from four levels above them in a 2-1 win.

It was also a cupset in the all-Corinthian tie in Dagenham where Division Five’s Newbury Drive were up against Division Four unbeaten leaders, May & Baker EC. A high-scoring game saw Bakers lead early but Newbury fought back and eventually prevailed in a 5-2 scoreline.

JK Silvertown Reserves were another side to put a higher-ranked opponent to the sword as they travelled to Rainham and left with a win against an East End United side from two divisions above them, a close game eventually settled in extra time as JK won 5-4.

The only county cup reverse of the weekend came from Newbury Park where East Park Rovers’ maiden run in the county cup came to an end at the third round stage, Woodham Radars A having just too much in the end in a 2-0 scoreline.
