FA SUNDAY CUP

With inclement weather impacting the fixture list at the weekend, the only FA Sunday Cup tie that survived involving our clubs saw East London Ballers up against Suffolk’s Moreton Hall Ferals at Parsloes Park. Ballers got ahead early in the game and despite an improved Moreton showing later in the half, two further second half goals meant it was East London Ballers strolling into the last sixteen with a 4-0 win.

SENIOR DIVISION CUP

Back in domestic cup action, the Senior Division Cup continued on Sunday with Club 1017 in action at Royal Docks Academy, up against a Baiteze Squad keen to keep in the mix for the competition. A game filled with ten goals saw Baiteze walk away with the win with Daniel Izekor netting four and adding to strikes from Quincy Agbejale and Malachi Napa.

DIVISION ONE

In Division One, Benchviews produced one of their best performances of the season, travelling down the A13 on Sunday to take on Barking Riverside at Castle Green in another game producing ten goals. And the visitors were the side leaving the happier, 7-3 winners including a hat-trick from Jeffrey Nguede and two from Amazigh Laoudi.

Another side who picked up an important win ahead of the festive period were Total Football who started the day down in ninth before their home fixture against Critics. Ninety minutes later however they were level with their opponents on eleven points with Total winning 3-1 courtesy of strikes from Nile Painter, Fiaz Akhtar and Oliver Marshall.

DIVISION TWO

The sole surviving game in Division Two came from Fords Newbury Park and saw AC Milano Reserves move up into third place in the table after earning a fifth win of the season, defeating Upshire Forest in a 7-1 scoreline. Leighton Hughes-Franklin netted for the visitors but that proved just consolation as Milano racked up seven of their own.

DIVISION FOUR

In Division Four, it was East End United at home on Sunday with a Asianos making the trip across to Rainham, the latter holding a two-point advantage heading into the match. But United will have been pleased with their efforts, coming away 4-2 winners through a goal each from Joseph Connor, Mike Elsmore, Jack Jackson and Jevonte Cassar, moving out of the relegation places in the process.

DIVISION FIVE

Over in east London, Athletic Newham’s final home game of the year saw entertain a Young Royals side sat nine points behind their opponents at the start of the game. But that had been reduced to just six by the end, Royals winning the game 2-1 to move ninth with goals from Sujiven Jeyaratnam and Sahithiyan Jatheeswaran, Ronnie Wilson netting in consolation for Newham.

DIVISION SIX

That scoreline was reflected in the only surviving game in Division Six where London Legacy were facing a title chasing Newbury Drive side at Parsloes Park. With others around them out of action, Newbury moved to the summit with a 2-1 victory here. Samuel White and Charlie Thompson both came off the bench to score while Ahmed Ali’s effort for Legacy wasn’t quite enough in the end.

COUNTY CUP

The London Sunday Trophy produced the day’s only county cup football action and saw Daglanta move south of the river to take on a higher ranked Hartford Athletic side. It was the hosts who walked away winners, 6-2 the final scoreline as Daglanta returned home empty handed.
