PREMIER DIVISION

A weather curtailed weekend saw just one top flight fixture survive the elements on Sunday as Elda played host to Romford Elite in Loughton. Jordan Sabaroche scored for Elite but his efforts proved in vain as Ian Thompson, Joey May and Calvin Poku goals ensured the points headed the way of Elda in a 4-1 scoreline, moving them up to fourth in the table.

DIVISION ONE

There was a similar shortage of action in Division One where just a single fixture, between West Abbey and Korona Redbridge, beat the elements. Harrison Slater and Corey Powell goals proved enough for Abbey to secure a first league win of the campaign, overcoming a Jacek Miedzak goal in a 2-1 scoreline to move off the foot of the table.

DIVISION TWO

In Division Two, the only game played saw a top half of the table tussle as Hornchurch Oakmont were paid a visit by league leaders, Walthamstow Avenue, at Westlands on Sunday. Thomas Gibson netted for the Oak but the leaders prevailed to another three point haul courtesy of two goals from Pierre Weekes and one from Sam Crispe in a 3-1 victory, extending their lead to five points.

DIVISION THREE

The battle of the top two was witnessed in Division Three where Barking Riverside played host to E4 Rangers at Castle Green with just a single point keeping the teams apart prior to kick-off. Barking goals from James Case, Oussama Bennani, Leithan Brimah and Bukele Mukudi were the men on target with just Ryan Radley on target for Rangers handing the hosts a massive 4-1 win to head into the Christmas break.

The day’s other contest in Division Three came not too far away as Blackwall Rovers made the trip to Dagenham to take on Roneo Colts at Robert Clack. There was just the one goal in this clash with Rovers the beneficiaries of that effort to record a 1-0 victory, climbing a number of places to sixth in the standings.

DIVISION FOUR

Just the one game was completed in Division Four where a relegation six-pointer saw bottom of the table, Ridgeway Rovers Under 21s, take on third bottom Romford Athletic Dons. Rovers gave themselves a lot of hope for the second half of the season, moving level with their opponents after a 5-3 win. Gus Lawrence scored twice with Harley Hillman, Sam May-Parrott and Joseph Sambridge getting the others to earn an important win, overcoming two Jack Pascoe goals and a Scott Buckland effort.

DIVISION FIVE

It was also a good day for the Reserves of Ridgeway Rovers who moved to within two points of top spot in Division Five as they overcome fourth placed Eastern Avenue in a 7-2 win. Sanchez Bolessa and Regan Marshall each netted twice with Reece Boultwood, Guilherme Ramalho and Rhys Clements goals rounding off a comprehensive win.

There was another east London derby in the division as Thames Ironworks Community Reserves made the short trip to Beckton to take on Custom House Community. Thames started the day second bottom but earned a hard fought victory, winning 2-1 against their local rivals to move up to ninth.

ESSEX SUNDAY JUNIOR TROPHY

After two failed previous attempts, the third crack at the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy fourth round clash between Great Bradfords and West Essex was certainly worth the wait as the two teams culminated in a thirteen-goal thriller. West were behind early doors, playing at least two men short for the majority of the game but managed to run out astonishing 8-5 winners as the goals rained in. They now progress through to a quarter final against Theydon in the next round.
