DIVISION ONE CUP

Another weather affected weekend saw the Corinthian action reduced but some football did survive and in the Division One Cup, holders Theydon Green ensured they kept up the defence of their trophy with a first round home victory against Benchviews. Ben Harris scored twice while George Johnson, Harry Barrett and Harry Carter goals rounded off a 5-1 win.

Over in Dagenham, another first round tie saw FC Galaxy in action at home against Royal Lions A with the sides meeting at Castle Green for a place in the quarter finals. And it will be the Lions happier with their efforts from the game as they ran out 6-2 victors in the end, a performance they hope might be a translateable into their league form as the season progresses on.

DIVISION FIVE CUP

In the Division Five Cup competition, just hhe one game survived the deluge and that came from Old Dagenham Park where Mayfield Kings were the visitors to take on a Titans United side, taking a seven point lead into the game. But Titans overcame that deficit in a 2-1 winning performance to head into the quarter finals, Tommy Edwards and Charlie Foran scoring the goals to render Kiz Myaz's strike as consolation.

DIVISION THREE

The Division Three action saw three fixtures and Valence United moved into the top half of the table with a terrific 3-2 away win against title chasing United Amateurs, that being the host's first defeat of the season. Jack Chawner scored twice for the hosts but two Rowan Newland goals and a late Michael O'Brien strike took the points back to Dagenham.

Over in Loughton, Colebrook Royals Vets maintained their interest in matters towards the top end of the table with a comprehensive win, coming from behind to beat Korona Redbridge 9-2. Milan Pajak's early goals kept his side in the game but Alan McCormack netted a hat-trick in reply, Omar Mahmood scored twice and one each from Joe Cole, Jay Bothroyd, Paul Noonan and Nedret Ozkasim completed a win.

The third game from the division saw a six goal contest between Alpha and FC Mexico B over at the Flats and after a cup success last weekend, the Mexicans were looking to extend that positivity into the league. They certainly competed but it was Alpha who produced the winning touch, PJ Marcus, Ryan Dodd, Tafari Miller and Stefan WIllis all netting in a 4-2 win. Emmanuel Rowe scored both of the Mexico goals in reply.

DIVISION FOUR

There were two goal-filled matches in the fifth tier where Eastern Avenue moved themselves into the top four of the division with a stunning 6-1 home win against Prospect Protege. Ibrahim Khan scored the latter's goal but Boamah Kwakye's hat-trick in reply done the damage, alongside goals from Dylan Maloyi, Kai Rawlins and Anas Akhazzan.

Over at Westlands, promotion chasing Warren Senior were the hosts to Horse & Well, seeking to do the league double over their opponents. But a close game saw the sides share five goals, eventually edged by 3-2 by Warren as Michael Turner scored twice and Ross McGlynn once, that result keeping them within three points of the leaders.

DIVISION FIVE

The biggest scoreline in Division Five saw Royal Lions B continue their excellent form in front of goal with a terrific 11-2 win at home against Lonsdale at Hainault Rec. Drey Johnson and Brandon Fulton both scored four and Subhan Asgher a hat-trick in a terrific performance, Conor Treadwell scoring both of the Lonsdale goals in reply.

It was also a great morning's work for Debden Sports A who put their third league win of the season on the board against a Dagenham Rangers side who started the day ten points clear of their opponents. But a 6-1 win for Debden cut that deficit with Braeden Creasey and Augustus Lawrence each netting two, Alex Williams and Jack Sullivan scoring the others.

At Old Dagenham Park, hosts Ultimate Vision Reserves saw the visit of fellow mid-table side Manford Way Reserves with both sides level on twelve points going into the game. And a match between two closely matched sides was settled by just a single goal, Vision the beneficiries of that key moment in the game to win 1-0.

DIVISION SIX

It was a great morning for Warren United who picked up their very first league win this season on Sunday and what a spectacular win it was too as they produced a 12-2 victory against Havering Palace at the Rec. That result saw Warren move off the bottom and into tenth place while also, astonishgly, becoming the second highest scoring side in the division despite just one victory this term.

The division's other game came from Hornchurch where ninth placed Zone 4 Athletic were up against third placed Epping Royals with nine points between the sides at the start of the game. But the two sides were tough to seperate on the day and it saw the game finish level at 1-1 as Craig Janes' goal for Zone was equalled by a Joseph Bothwell goal from the Royals.

COUNTY & CHARITY CUP

In the Essex Sunday Premier Cup, the first quarter finalist of the season was confirmed as Baiteze Squad's strong form in recent weeks continued, beating JK Silvertown in a 5-2 success in Beckton. They will now head on to face either Hatch Lane or Prittlewell in the last eight of the competition.

Sunday's Essex Junior Cup action saw another quarter finalist confirmed as Barking & Dagenham Wanderers made it through into the last eight, coming through a tough looking game against Thurrock League side Chafford United, winning 4-2 after extra time.

Elsewhere in that same competition, Debden Sports Reserves' excellent run in the cup finally came to an end as they were beaten by Colchester based Old Saints United in a 1-0 scoreline at Wanstead Flats, ending Debden's interest in the competition.

Also exiting at the last sixteen stage were Leytonstone Athletic who faced up to  a Grays Athletic side in their fourth round clash at Hainault Rec on Sunday. Grays were 4-2 winners in the game as they went through at the expense of Leytonstone.

In the West Essex Sunday Charity Cup competition, Critics were up against last season's finalists in the competition, Goresbrook, for a place in the quarter finals next month and it was a solid performance on the day to overcome their opposition, eventually prevailing in a 5-1 scoreline.
