WEEK 21 REVIEW: Round-up of all the Corinthian League action from the weekend

SENIOR DIVISION CUP
The latest Senior Division Cup fixture action came from Dagenham where East London Ballers faced a Brook Athletic side, both sitting in the middle area of the table. The teams shared the points in a 2-2 draw as Salim Nassor and Chaka Barnett goals were equalled by Brook efforts from Reece Simpson and Roberto Carvalho.
SENIOR DIVISION
There was some league action in the Senior Division also which saw Baiteze Squad up against Club 1017 at Parsloes Park in tough conditions. Baiteze led the game early on through Daniel Izekor's terrific strike but Club fought back to level and then take home the points with a 5-1 win.
DIVISION ONE CUP
Semi-finalists were confirmed in the Division One Cup competition, firstly as Colebrook Royals put themselves ninety minutes away from a potential final, winning 2-1 at home against Critics. Dean Florence struck for the visitors but that proved consolation in the end as Perry Dicker and Presley Evans both scored for Royals.
Also through to the semi-finals are high-flying Roose who were up against St Augustines in the game in Hainault. Saints did put two on the scoresheet through James Edelman and Ethelbert Thomas but those proved not quite enough in the end, Roose notching four to win it 4-2.
DIVISION ONE
Back in the league, it was second versus third in the game at Roding Valley School where Repton Park faced up to local rivals Debden Sports Reserves. Elliot Bron and Thomas House both found back of the net for Repton but those were equalled by two Debden goals as the sides settled for a point apiece at 2-2.
Over at Fords Newbury Park, Benchviews were in action with a home fixture against Barking Riverside, the visitors starting the day four points ahead of their opponents. But that was extended to seven by the end, Barking running out 5-1 winners from the game to move up into sixth spot.
DIVISION TWO CUP
The first round cup action saw the long name derby as Barking & Dagenham Wanderers travelled to East London Ballers Under 23s for a place in the last eight. A game of eight goals was edged by Ballers who had Zakir Khan, Razat Rahman, Demitri Davis-Thorpe. Thiskok Sivathasan and Junior Milla to thank in a 5-3 success.
In the last eight, there was one tie completed which saw Upshire Forest make their way into the semi-finals, looking to repeat their cup run of last season, ending FC Galaxy's participation in a 4-1 scoreline. Reggie Pegrum, Daniel Roult, Leighton Hughes-Franklin and Kailem Gayle scored the goals, Alexandru Saru netting in reply for the hosts.
DIVISION TWO
It's all change at the top in Division Two where key results saw Woodford Town move back to the summit, racking up a comprehensive 7-0 away win against Stone Town in east London. Morgan Radley and Ben Smith both scored twice, Luke Dimond, Callum Maltese and Mason Naylor goals adding the gloss on the result.
That result was all the more important after closest rivals AC Milano Reserves were involved in a close game against Daglanta, the match ending in a 1-1 draw at Wanstead Flats. Humoud Majid struck for Daglanta with Milano also netting to take a share of the spoils.
DIVISION THREE CUP
It was quarter-finals day for six teams in the competition, beginning in Hainault where Colebrook Royals Reserves confirmed their place in the semi-finals with a thumping 9-0 home win against Romford Town Flyers. Makai Fray scored four, Jordan Rock a hat-trick while Jamie Meakin and Brandon Fulton added the others.
Joining them in the last four of the competition are South Ilford Catholics who had a Hainault derby ahead of them against United Amateurs. Berty Frith scored twice for United but Charlie Briggs' found a hot streak, netting all four of the South Ilford goals in a 4-2 success.
Over at Whitbreads, promotion chasing Woodford Town Reserves were up against lower ranked opposition with Warren Senior the visitors. A close game finished level at 1-1 with Ronan McGoldrick scoring for Town and Jack Glenister for Warren. It was then Warren who held their nerve to win the shootout 5-4 and head into the semi-finals.
DIVISION THREE
Back in the league, Leytonstone Athletic regained their place at the top of the table as they overcame Ainslie in their latest encounter, Reece Simpson's hat-trick and a Lee Harris brace seeing them win 5-2 in Hainault. Michael Baker and Aaron Powell struck with the Ainslie consolations in reply.
DIVISION FOUR CUP
The first round tie over the weekend saw Royal Lions travel into east London to take on Asianos at Low Hall, both sides battling for a place in the last eight of the competition. It was the hosts, Asianos, who walked away the happier of the teams, winning 5-1 to move through to the quarters.
There was quarter-final action too which saw a repeat of one of last season's final with Coppice Row taking on Manford Way. Manford got their revenge this time however, winning 3-1 as Oliver Dosad, Herman Mwanza and Jalil Taiwo struck with goals, overcoming Afolabi Olugbile's goal for Row.
Also into the semi-finals are Eastern Avenue who were involved in a seven-goal humdinger of a game with Cardinals Athletic in east London. Daniel Acquaye struck two goals and Bubacar Sillah one for Cardinals but it wasn't quite enough in the end as Eastern Avenue edged it 4-3 by the end.
DIVISION FOUR
Back in the league, there was one game played in Hainault which saw Prospect Protege meet an East End United side seperated by two points as it got underway. A closely fought encounter saw Prospect take the points, winning 3-2 with two goals from Juan de la Puente and one from Alexander Brennand, Jack Jackson scoring both United goals in reply.
DIVISION FIVE CUP
Lonsdale produced the shock of the day in the Division Five Cup first round as the relegation threatened side travelled to title challengers Romford Rovers and came away victorious, 2-1 winners. Kalium Fletcher and Anton Nikolli scored for Lonsdale to overcome Jake Griffin's goal for Rovers.
Also through to the last eight are Alpha, their travels seeing them make the short trip to Hainault where they faced Legacy City. Frankie Naidoo scored two for City but Alpha braces in reply from Tariq Mahmoud and Jake Skeet, plus a goal from Marco Nunes, meant it was the visitors winning 5-2.
There was quarter-final action too which saw Valance United B and Mansfield Rangers battle it out for a place in the last four. It was Valence who left the happier, putting nine goals away in a 9-1 success as Rowan Newland struck four, Enzo Victoriano a hat-trick, Charlie Surridge and Ryan Knight the others. James Scott scored the Rangers goals in consolation.
DIVISION FIVE
There were two league games too, firstly as Epping Town moved to the summit of the table with a big home win against Chingford Athletic at Stonards Hill. Joseph Bothwell scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 win with Darryl Wilson's goal proving just consolation in the end.
The other game came from east London where Athletic Newham were up against May & Baker EC at Gooseley Playing Fields, Bakers starting the day three points ahead. And that was increased to six points by the end in a 2-0 winning performance as Alex Paraskeva and Sean Doyle both scored in the win.
DIVISION SIX CUP
The Division Six Cup saw two first round ties, firstly the local derby game from Barkingside as FC Mexico made the short hop across the lane to take on Ace Athletics in a five goal thriller. Tom Mason scored two and Charlie Land once for Ace which proved just enough to win 3-2 and take their place in the last eight.
Just along Forest Road in Hainault, the "Newbury" derby saw Newbury Drive with home advantage against co-tenants Inter Newbury for a place in the last eight. It was Drive who took the win here with Mitchell Edmonds and Luey Young scoring twice each and Ethan Thomas once in a 5-2 victory.
DIVISION SIX
The league action saw Hainault Athletic and Colebrook Royals A renew old acquantancies at the Rec, Royals looking to continue their form from the previous weekend. It was another win this time also as they won 4-1 largely through a Lenny Hunt hat-trick, Jake Austin adding the other, while Denzel Dura struck for the hosts.
Over at Chigwell Lane, the other league fixture of the day saw county cup quarter finalsts Debden Sports B in home action with London Legacy the visitors. The match saw the teams evenly contesting, 1-1 the final scoreline as Montel Odunsi's effor for the hosts was equalled by Mohamed Noor's goal for Legacy.
DIVISION SEVEN CUP
All four quarter finals took place on Sunday in the Division Seven Cup and the shock of the day came from Hainault as county cup quarter-finalists, Warren United, exited the competition on penalties after the game with Barking Colts had ended in a 1-1 draw, Ollie Regan netting the Warren goal.
Over in Newbury Park, Emerson & Upminster eventually prevailed from their away tie at Zone 4 Athletic, the Havering based side winning 5-3 to take their place in the semi-finals with Louis Cook-Forrester, Daniel With, Ellis Nicholson and Lewis Robinson all netting. David Abioye, David Logan and Daniel Munrow all scored for Zone in reply.
Valence United C make the semi-finals in stunning fashion with their tie against Romford Bullsharks producing a thirteen-goal contest. Valence scored nine of those in a 9-4 win with Jamie Wooster and Jordan Cook scoring two, Jack Howard, Robert Devlin, Michael O'Brien, Rasheed Fasanya and Keenan Mitchell adding the others. Jack Edwards scored two for Romford, George Creedon and Ronnie Pemble netting too.
Completing the quartet of semi-finalists are Gatcliffe who had home advantage in their tie with United Amateurs Reserves at Old Dagenham Park. Gatcliffe won this one 8-1 with Ben North's hat-trick, Dane Young's brace and singles from Owen Woodhouse and Nico Bunduku. Hamza Hamdani scored the United goal in reply.
COUNTY CUP
Holders Hatch Lane are through to the semi-finals of the Essex Sunday Premier Cup for the third season in a row, netting their place in the last four following a trip to south Essex, beating Toby 3-0 at Barleylands to move to within ninety minutes of another final appearance.
It was not such a good morning in the fourth round however for JK Silvertown who saw their run reach an end with a heavy home defeat against last season's semi-finalists, Wormingford Newtown. After a tough start to the game, JK were beaten 7-1 at Gooseley Playing Fields to end their participation.
In the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy, Byron Red Star have netted themselves a place in the quarter-finals after another win against higher ranked opposition. After a goalless first half against Rainham Working Mens Club, two quick goals put them ahead before a grandstand finish was set up with Rainham's goal, 2-1 being how it ended.
The London Sunday Challenge Cup third round action saw AC Milano make a trip into north London on Sunday afternoon as they went up against Mehmetcik Galata for a place in the last eight of the competition. Milano bounced back well from their defeat last weekend, winning 3-1 here to set up a trip to south London next month.
