COUNTY CUP

It’s congratulations to Hatch Lane who will contest the Essex Sunday Premier Cup Final for a third consecutive season, holding off a Wormingford Newtown fightback to take the tie 4-2 at Parsloes Park. They now await opponents for the 13th April showdown at Bowers & Pitsea.

CORINTHIAN CUP

Debden Sports Reserves have booked their place in the last four of the Corinthian Cup competition after edging out JK Silvertown at Chigwell Lane after the game had ended level at 3-3. Sports then prevailed 8-7 in the shootout to take the win.

Also through into the semi-finals are the holders, AC Milano, who moved to within ninety minutes of reaching the final again with a big 6-2 away win against Division One’s high-flyers, Repton Park, up in Loughton.

ENDEAVOUR CUP

There were in the Endeavour Cup, starting at Parsloes Park where Gatcliffe came from behind against London Legacy as the game ended 2-2 with Jordan Pocock netting both for Legacy and Nico Bunduku doing the same for the visitors. It was Gatcliffe who held their nerve in the shootout to win that 4-3.

Barking Colts were also in giant-killing mood once again, overcoming Division Six’s Inter Newbury in Hainault by the odd goal. Cameron Grey scored a hat-trick for Colts and that proved the difference between the sides as his team walked away 3-2 winners with a semi-final place confirmed.

SENIOR DIVISION

In the day’s top flight league action, Brook Athletic were in action at home against Baiteze Squad at Fords Newbury Park. It took just a single goal to separate the sides in a close match, Baiteze the sole scorers in a 1-0 that earns them a second league win of the season.

DIVISION ONE

There was a goal splurge in Division One, starting in Hainault where Roose saw vital points dropped in their race for the title, edged out by the odd goal in nine, 5-4, against Critics. Daniel Florence and Afolabi Ofolabi both bagged braces for Critics in the win.

Over in east London, UK Moldova’s latest battle saw them up against Colebrook Royals Seniors at the Marshes with an odd goal needed to separate the teams in a 3-2 Royals win. Presley Evans scored two and Perry Dicker one as Royals kept up the pressure at the top.

In Newbury Park, St Augustines continued their decent run of form with a local derby victory against co-tenants Benchviews. Callum Daniels’ hat-trick helped them record the win, William Able scoring the visitors’ consolation in a 3-1 scoreline.

DIVISION TWO CUP

The semi-final line-up for the Division Two Cup is complete and Woodford Town have moved to within ninety minutes of another cup final, prevailing from their home clash against Singh Sabha Barking in a 5-1 scoreline, Dylan Boparai netting the Barking consolation.

DIVISION TWO

Second placed Daglanta held on to their spot in the promotion places, recording a derby day win at home to Stone Town, 3-2, at Wanstead Flats. Ruben Aiyegbusi scored two and Humoud Majid the other to help their team over the line.

3-2 was the theme in other games too, including for promotion chasing AC Milano Reserves who made the long trip up to Town Mead to take on Upshire Forest on Sunday, returning with a win under their belts. Daniel Roult and Leighton Hughes-Franklin netted the Forest goals in reply.

The other five-goal thriller saw county semi-finalists, FC Galaxy, have their promotion hopes dented with a 3-2 home defeat against East London Ballers Under 23s. Mahamadou Camara, Kamaloudine Fousseni and Moussa Fousseni all bagged for Ballers, Alexandru Saru and Andrei Cazacu scoring for Galaxy.

Not too far away, at Robert Clack Leisure Centre, Barking & Dagenham Wanderers racked up their fifth win this term to close in on safety, coming out on the right side of a narrow 2-1 success at home against City Site for whom Alfie Hatfull was on target.

DIVISION THREE CUP

Warren Senior are cup finalists this season, pulling off a big of a cupset in their Division Three Cup semi-final against title chasing Leytonstone Athletic. Anthony Cooke’s brace and a Nathan Elgie effort were enough to overcome the visitors 3-1 who saw Ryan Kelland get on the scoresheet in reply.

DIVISION THREE

Third placed Colebrook Royals Reserves made it seven wins for the season on Sunday, returning from Hainault Rec with all three points after a 4-2 win at United Amateurs. Jack Chawner scored both the hosts but two Harley Lewis goals plus James Rose and Calvin Bell efforts gave Royals the win.

Over at Westlands, Romford Town Flyers got back to winning ways in the league with a vital victory to keep their hopes alive, scoring the game’s only goal against cup finalists, South Ilford Catholics. Lloyd Ross scored that vital effort for his side to win it 1-0.

DIVISION FOUR

There was a six-goal thriller at Harris Academy where East End United took a point off the league leaders, Manford Way, a 3-3 draw by the end. Jake Li’s brace and an Onyedikachi Jude effort accounted for Way’s goals with Joseph Connor, Loui Grech and Ryan Mallett striking for United.

Cardinals Athletic moved towards safety in the division for another year, recording win number five courtesy of a 3-1 success at home to Asianos. Daniel Acquaye scored two and Kadeem Kazeem one for the hosts at Castle Green.

It was spoils shared in the other game from the division in Hainault as Prospect Protégé and Eastern Avenue couldn’t be separated in their game which ended 1-1. Alexander Brennand scored for the hosts with Paulius Olisauskas scoring the Avenue effort.

DIVISION FIVE

Things couldn’t be much tighter in Division Five where the leaders, Romford Rovers, slipped to a 3-2 defeat to second placed May & Baker EC on Sunday to leave that well poised. Liam Adams and Jamie Randall scored for Rovers with Robbie Norris, Ross Riding and Johnny Gallagher firing for Bakers.

Valence United B continued their late surge up the league standings with a trip to Hornchurch to face Young Royals at Sanders Cross. Valence took maximum points in a 2-0 win, Charlie Surridge and Enzo Victoriano scoring the goals for their side.

There was a big win for Legacy City in their quest to avoid the drop, netting themselves a 5-1 home victory against Mansfield Rangers in Hainault to move level on points. Frankie Naidoo scored four and Dimitar Petrov one for City while Billy Happe scored the Rangers goal in reply.

There was another five-goal win in the other contest as Alpha continued their decent run of form with a strong 5-0 away win against Athletic Newham in East Ham, a result which carries them six points clear of their opponents in sixth spot.

DIVISION SIX CUP

The Division Six Cup quarter-finals saw defences on top as Ace Athletics and Debden Sports B battled to a rare 0-0 draw at the end of ninety minutes in Barkingside. It was then Debden who did the business in the shootout, winning that 5-3 to move into the last four.

DIVISION SIX

Newbury Drive returned to the top of the Division Six league standings with two games to go after a local derby victory at Fairlop Oak, beating Hainault Athletic in a 4-0 scoreline. That was Drive’s twelfth win of the season, putting them a point clear albeit from a game more than their rivals.

DIVISION SEVEN

Warren United kept up their pressure on the league leaders on Sunday morning, racking up six goals without reply against Emerson & Upminster. A 6-0 win was Warren’s tenth of the season, helped by braces from Ollie Regan and Daniel Beresford plus singles from Zain Kokab and Aidan Butler.

It’s been a good run of form for Zone 4 Athletic who have leapt to a high of sixth in the table following a third league win on Sunday, defeating United Amateurs Reserves in a 3-1 scoreline. Hamza Hamdani netted for United with Teraun Davis, Zac Doyle and David Abioye firing for Zone.
