TROPHYLAND CUP
The first finalists in the Trophyland Cup were confirmed on Sunday where Ping City Phoenixes came out on top, 3-2, in their big hitting semi final against Newbury Drive. Jack Flood scored two and Ezra Waterman the other with Billy Happe and Luke Newbury-Neale goals just consolation for Drive.
SENIOR DIVISION
AC Milano have moved top of the league in the Senior Division following the weekend’s results, defeating Yeni Bogazici in a 5-2 win at Fords Newbury Park, keeping alive their hopes of title glory come the end of the campaign.
DIVISION ONE CUP
It was semi-finals day with both ties completed on Sunday, St Augustines returning to the cup final stage with a 4-3 shootout win over Upshire Forest after the game had ended in a 1-1 draw at Fords. Taylah Cunningham struck for Saints with Louie Fehrenbach striking for the visitors.
Joining them in that final will be JK Silvertown who made the occasion once again after a 2-1 win away at FC Galaxy in Dagenham. A goal each from Jeremiah Francis and Lashian Johnson were the difference in the end to send their side through.
DIVISION ONE
Back in the league, Woodford Town took advantage of others being in the cup to move two points clear at the summit with a hard fought 2-1 against AC Milano Reserves with Bryan Okoye and Morgan Radley scoring the crucial goals.
DIVISION TWO
In Division Two, Singh Sabha Barking have moved top on goal difference at the summit following a 4-2 home victory on Sunday against Barking & Dagenham Wanderers. Karam Lalli scored two, Eesah Rashid and Adham Ennaoumi were the men on target in the win.
DIVISION THREE
Leaders, Turkmenkoy London, remain nine points clear at the summit following a 2-0 away win over South Ilford Catholics where Melvin Cakoni and Mitchell Smith both netted. With just a couple of games left however, they will continue to look over their shoulder for a few weeks.
The big game elsewhere came from London Marathon where it took a terrific second half goal from Adrian John to separate Byron Red Star and Manford Way, two of the sides with plenty of games still to affect the title race.
Just across the hedge, at Fairlop Oak, two sides with big cup games upcoming, Prospect Protege and Stone Town, went to battle with the former taking the honours on the day, winning 3-1 following goals from Alexander Brennand, Matthew Cook and Ethan Kieran.
DIVISION SIX CUP
In the Division Six Cup, JK Silvertown Reserves made it a day of double celebration for the club as they battled their way to a cup final appearance, beating Newbury Kings 3-2 at Fairlop with Bobby Rusbridge scoring two and Thomas Turner the other.
Their opponents in that final will be Valence United B as they completed a strong comeback against Chingford Athletic from 3-1 down to win 5-4. Raheem Isaac, George Whalley, Darryl Wilson and Andre Graham scored for Chingford with Reece Stanley’s brace and efforts from Robert Devlin, Jordan Cook and Jamie Wooster proving just enough.
DIVISION SIX
Back in the league, the biggest winners of the day were Coppice Row as they secured themselves a big 5-1 away win over Newroe United. Matheus de Lima and Louis Willock both scored twice and Dan Joseph once for Row, Daniel Munroe bagging for United in response.
It was a tight five goal thriller in the game from east London where Warren United eventually prevailed 3-2 against Lonsdale. Oliver Regan scored two and Harry Turner one for United with Emanuel Ntoi and Klalnti Chotza scoring consolation efforts for the hosts.
DIVISION SEVEN
It’s congratulations to Ace Athletics who wrapped up the Division Seven title on Sunday with a 4-2 away win over United Amateurs Reserves. Joshua Craske, Jake James, Bailey Pryce and Thomas Mason scored the landmark goals, rendering Jack Chawner’s double in vain. Well done to all involve at Ace for their accomplishments this season!
The runners-up spot is almost secured too with Collier Row Under 23s just a few points away from settling that after a 5-1 away win over Zone 4 Athletic on Sunday. Ernest Peka’s brace and singles from Samuel Donegan, Chris Kipoy and Charlie Cook proved decisive.
Hainault Athletic are the nearest side mathematically and kept their promotion chase alive with a 3-1 home win over Highams Park Rangers. Frankie Sinclair, Tyrone Collier and Terry Downing all found the back of the net to get the win.
Barking Colts put a win on their record with an away victory over Barkingside in east London, 3-0 winners after goals from Arinze Ossai, Akeem Matthews and James Traynor, helping them stay fifth in the standings.
An entertaining game wraps up the report with a six-goal thriller between Rush Green Rangers and Romford Bullsharks ending 3-3. Aaron Antony, Darkwah Saeed and Thomas Rayner scoring the goals for Rangers, James Edwards, Teddy Pluma and George Creedon notching for Romford.
COUNTY CUP
It was the long awaited semi-final day in the London Sunday Challenge Cup with two heavy hitters, Baiteze Squad and Olympia, meeting at Parsloes Park for a place in the final. With a wind affected match ending all square at 0-0, a rare extra-time period saw the visitors take the honours, Olympia winning 2-0.
