TROPHYLAND CUP

It was Trophyland Cup semi-final day on Sunday as four sides looked to confirm their places in the finals at Dagenham. Debden Sports Reserves went into their tie as underdogs, facing Roneo Colts from the division above and it was Colts who took the honours with Shermar Marshalleck, Dwayne Francis-Riley and Keenan Gravillis all netting to send their side to the final.

The day’s other semi-final action saw two Division Two sides face each other with St Augustines seeking another cup final appearance and Thames Ironworks Community looking to return to the finals for the first time in a few seasons. A seven goal thriller was eventually won by the Saints with Jonathan Davies scoring two, Kyran Allen and Augustine Appiah netting the others in a 4-3 success.

DIVISION FIVE CUP

The line-up for the Division Five Cup Final is now complete and it will be a battle of the “B”s as Byron Red Star pulled off a big win to defeat title chasing Valence United in a 5-1 scoreline. Rowan Newland scored for United but Byron braces from Adrian John and Ryan O’Connell, along with a Richie Morris goal were enough for the Havering based outfit to book their place in the final.

SENIOR DIVISION

The day’s Senior Division action saw a battle of two of the league’s top sides as Hatch Lane hosted Baiteze Squad in the former’s final league game of the season, Baiteze who getting themselves into a 2-0 lead midway through the first half. But Hatch grabbed one back before the break and then scored twice in the second period to complete a 3-2 comeback. Ashley Campbell, Ibrahim Kehinde and Ayrton Andrews all scoring for the newly crowned champions.

DIVISION ONE

The big game in Division One came from Walthamstow where Theydon Green were in action with a top of the table battle with Oceana. The latter knew that only a win would extend the race further and a 2-1 success for Oceana on the day, courtesy of goals from Jesse Jones and Jack Williamson, means they move top for the time being, Green with one game left to take the points they need.

The goals were flying in at Abridge Village where the hosts saw the visit of Barking to Ongar Road, a game which saw the sides share ten goals between them. Devine Osuji scored two and one each from Argest Nela and Joe Blewitt kept the Blues in the game but a Reece Clarke hat-trick and efforts from Jake Clarke, Kurt Freeney and Aaron Gurney gave the hosts a 6-4 success by full-time.

DIVISION TWO

Royal Lions A have moved into the runners-up spot from their final league game of the season as they now sit and wait to see what the two sides beneath them can do in their remaining games. Lions were 3-0 winners against cup finalists, Total Football, to complete their maiden season at this level with thirteen wins in twenty.

DIVISION FOUR

In Division Four, the final game of Ainslie and Lonsdale’s seasons were completed at Wadham Lodge as the sides battled their way in a five goal contest which ultimately saw the points head home with the hosts. Kalium Fletcher and Conor Treadwell efforts accounted for the Lonsdale goals but their efforts proved in vain ultimately as Ainslie scored three to win it 3-2.
