DIVISION ONE

There were just four matches over the Easter weekend with one of those, a Division One clash, seeing SL Menfica going in search of the one point they required to make a mathematical certainty of their title. Their opponents, Valentine United, weren’t going to be a pushover however and ended their season in style with a 2-0 victory. SL will still be champions provided they can avoid a heavy defeat in their remaining match in a fortnight.

DIVISION TWO

In Division Two, Royal Albert have moved to within a win of confirming the runners-up place in the division, that being despite a narrow defeat on Sunday against the champions, Dagenham United. Ricardo Teixeira scored early on with Sean Thomas extending the lead for the Daggers but Albert responded well to level it up at 2-2 before the break. But an Aaron Nuet goal in the second half handed a 3-2 win to the champions, completing their league season in the process.

The other game on the day came at Mayesbrook Park where last weekend’s cup finalists, Barking and Goresbrook, met once again with a promotion place on offer for Barking. Goresbrook had other ideas however as William Cox scored twice for the cup holders, those being both goals in an eventual 2-0 victory for this side. With three games to go, Goresbrook could still reach as high as third in the standings despite a disappointing mid-season run of form.

DIVISION FOUR

The Division Four action is almost at it’s end for another year as Oak Royals and Asianos Reserves completed their respective seasons with a clash in Abridge. Mitchell Drewe and Bill Gregory were both on the scoresheet for Royals but their efforts proved in vain as third placed Asianos completed a 6-2 win, both sides ending largely successful seasons.
