Premier Division

In the Premier Division on Sunday, Repton Park have maintained their outside hopes of a top two finish this season as they travelled to Hornchurch to face Emerson Park with the latter looking to end their season on a high. Repton will have gone home the happier of the sides however as they won 6-3 against the leaders to tighten up the situation at the top of the table.

Division One

Congratulations must go this week to East London Old Boys who have made it a league and cup double in their very first season together as they picked up the victory they needed on Sunday against Barking & Dagenham Wanderers. Goals from Bekim Dushku, Joe Collins, Jack Stevenson and Emmanuel Adade were enough to earn them a 4-1 win against their cup final opponents.

Congratulations to everybody involved at the club on a terrific first season!

Division Two

There was an eleven goal thriller in Plaistow on Sunday as the Division Two leaders, Wanstead United, entertained their local rivals Westferry Elite. In one of those typical end-of-season open contests, Wanstead goals Bradley Drisdale, Stanley Fabowale, Adam Hunt, Johnnie Offei and a Jeffrey Nketia brace edged their side to a 6-5 victory by the odd goal.

Chingford Athletic’s quest for a top two finish was diminished on Sunday as they took on St Augustines in a top half of the table clash. James Reeves got himself on the scoresheet for Athletic but Saints goals from the confusing double act of Thomas’ Neale and Neil earned them the three points in a 2-1 win.

The battle to avoid relegation is hitting a crucial period and two of the sides facing a potential drop came head-to-head on Sunday as Dagenham United played host to London Fire Brigade. Paul Borgamini and Joseph Williams were on the scoresheet for the Daggers but Fire goals from John Dillon and David Moore levelled things up in a 2-2 draw. Four points now separate the bottom five sides in the division with none of those sides yet safe.

Division Three

There was a huge result at the top of Division Three on Sunday as top of the table Dagenham United Reserves took on second placed FC United of Hornchurch. Sean Thomas scored twice for Dagenham with Garry Shea also finding the back of the net to help their side to a crucial 3-1 victory in the title race. That result places Hornchurch’s quest out their own hands but they do have a double header next weekend where they could wrestle back the initiative.

In the day’s other football action, the other contenders for silverware in the division, Goresbrook, were on the road away at Alpha with them needing a victory to maintain their own chances of landing the title. Liam Coney scored twice for the visitors with David Webster, Johnny Gallacher and Charlie Barrett efforts completing a 5-0 victory. Wins in all of their remaining matches would take the title but there are many hurdles to jump before that can be achieved.

Division Four

In Division Four, Grey Area made it eleven wins from their nineteen matches played this season as they ran out comfortable 7-0 victors away at Oak Royals in both sides’ penultimate games of the season. There were hat-tricks for both Khadean Campbell and Moyo Oba with Jack Richardson also scoring to round off the win.
