DIVISION ONE

The season’s league action came to a conclusion on Sunday with plenty on the line going into the final matches. In Division One, it’s congratulations to SL Menfica who secured the points they needed to be crowned Division One league champions as they faced Korona Redbridge in their final match. Jack Barraclough and David Hornsby goals were the difference as cup final bound Menfica warmed up for that with a 2-0 victory.

Congratulations to Connor, David and the rest of the SL Menfica team on another magnificent season. Also well done to Chingford Athletic who retained their hopes right up until the final day but were edged out in the end to take the runners-up honours and promotion.

DIVISION TWO

The Division Two battle on Sunday was a crucial double header clash between Goresbrook and Royal Albert where Albert went into the games knowing they needed three points from six to secure the runners-up position. But in the first game, Goresbrook were comfortable victors as Joe May scored twice and further goals arrived from Martin Tuohy, Ricky Cripps and William Cox in a 5-1 win.

With added incentive in the second fixture,  Goresbrook were again winners but this time were pushed all the way, edging a close contest by the odd goal in a 3-2 win. Charlie Morris, Josh Keeble and Joe May were on the scoresheet to hand their side the victory which sees them finish their campaign in third place.

It’s congratulations therefore to FC Kulture Klub who, despite finishing their season many weeks ago, were unable to be caught for runners up in the end and will join Dagenham United in the second tier next season.

DIVISION THREE

In Division Three, the last game of the season came in Walthamstow where West Essex were looking to end their first season on a high as they took on cup finalists, Hornchurch Oakmont. Their form in the latter part of the season saw West accrue plenty of points and they ended their season in style by thumping Hornchurch 6-0.

DIVISION FOUR

The Division Four season also reached it’s end on Sunday where Thames Ironworks Community Reserves were in action with a clash against Epping Forest Falcons. Alex Cachia was on target for Falcons but Thames’ maiden season saw a win on the final day with braces from both Benjamin Jeffrey and Lee Mpensah plus a Tony Bones goal in an eventual 5-2 victory.
