Not giving up, Albion fought back win 4-3 with virtually the last kick of the game. Jake Kenneally was on target with two goals, with Junior Kehinde and Ashley Allen also netting for Albion.

Division Four’s Grey Area almost pulled off a shock result themselves as they led their illustrious opponents from Division Two E4 Rangers by three goals to nil thorugh a double from Jordan May and Shane Westlake’s goal. However the reigning Division Three champions showed their metal in pulling off the comeback to win 5-3.

Waltham Athletic were big winners in their cup tie as Charlie Saywood’s hat-trick led them to a 7-0 victory against Lonsdale at the County Ground. Ben Jones, Zachary Leitch, Liam Nicklin and Rickie Brown were also on target for Athletic.

PREMIER DIVISION

Repton Park were the biggest winners of the weekend in the Premier Division as they beat Liberty Stars 5-1 at home to secure a first league win of the season. Adam Matthews was the hero with his quartet of goals with Ross Fraser also netting to confirm a comfortable victory.

Upshire remain top of the Premier Division as we enter the second month of the season following a 3-1 win on the road away at Flanders. That win opens up a five point gap on the second placed side, Lactico.

Warren United opened their campaign for the season with a narrow 3-2 victory over second placed Lactico. Goals for Courtney White and Dejean George for the visitors proved not quite enough as Warren secured maximum points.

DIVISION ONE

Barking have gone top of the table in Division One with the previous leaders in cup action this weekend. Barking took full advantage in beating Warren United Reserves 3-1 as Jordan Cook, Daryn Copsey and Ben King all found the onion sack to record a fourth victory for their side.

Chingford Celtic have recorded a third victory in four games, this time seeing off the efforts of Emerson Park in a 3-2 win. That win keeps Chingford up in fifth position in the table and firmly in touch with the leading sides.

DIVISION TWO

London Fire Brigade have moved up to fifth place in the Division Two table after a second successive win, this time over FC Mexico. A brace from Yomi Popoola plus further goals from David Moore, William Boulton and Adam Wells fired the Brigade to a 5-0 win.

Westferry Elite move up to second place in the table and remain unbeaten after a 2-0 home win at the weekend over Romford Galaxy. That leaves Elite two points behind the leaders, Park Tavern, from the same number of games.

DIVISION THREE

Wanstead United are really setting the pace and sending a signal of intent to Division Three with a fifth successive victory this weekend. They were 5-1 home winners over FC United of Hornchurch to open up a six point gap with Jason Branche scoring twice alongside further goals from Bradley Drisdale, Ciaran James and Donavan Reynolds.

Asianos Reserves made it two wins from two with a fine 5-2 win over Fairlop Rangers. Andre Fashanu and Jamie McMeekin were on target for Rangers but their goals proved mere consolation as Asianos won to move fourth in the table.

Alpha and Ridgeway Rovers shared the spoils in their own Division Three encounter as the sides ended locked at 1-1. Ashley Godwin picked up the Alpha goal with Duone Minors levelling it up for Ridgeway to take home a share of the points back to Chingford.

Epping Forest Falcons have returned to second position in the table as they edged a tight encounter with Hornchurch Oakmont in a 3-2 scoreline. James Bailey and George Terry were on target for Hornchurch but their goals proved not quite enough as Falcons move up in the table, ending the host’s unbeaten start to the season in the process.

COUNTY & CHARITY CUPS

It was a good day for Corinthian sides in the Essex Junior Cup as four of the five sides made it through to the next round.

Upshire Reserves were beaten 2-0 at home by Great Baddow in their own tie as their participation in this season’s competition came to a halt at the first hurdle.
