CORINTHIAN CUP

St Augustines have booked their place in the second round of the Corinthian Cup, scoring the game’s only goal at home to Critics on Sunday, securing a home tie against Warren Senior in the last thirty-two next month.

SENIOR DIVISION

There were some high-scoring games in the Senior Division on Sunday, beginning at the reigning champions, East London Ballers, who produced a 6-0 home victory over Colebrook Royals with Chaka Barnett scoring a hat-trick, Jordan Burnett two and Tariq Humaid the other.

The late game saw a seven-goal thriller as Baiteze Squad held off a Hatch Lane fightback to eventually win the Parsloes derby 4-3. Shydon Dennis scored twice with Hussein Mahdi and Kevar March-McKenzie goals adding to that.

Another side in goalscoring form were Brook Athletic as they put six past Yeni Bogazici to move second in the table following a 6-1 home victory. Raymond Poku scored for Yeni but two Craig Jeakins efforts plus goals from Dion Johnston, Jordan Elongo, Harry Carter and Noah Adejokun finished it.

DIVISION ONE

Upshire Forest produced the biggest win of the weekend in Division One as they made a successful trip to Dagenham, beating FC Galaxy 5-2. Riley Bowers, Kyle Smith, Reggie Pegrum, Jack Pegrum and Louie Fahrenbach scored the Upshire goals with Mihalache Dumitru and Giovani Paladoiu responding with Galaxy goals.

There are new leaders at the top following JK Silvertown’s trip to Daglanta, securing all three points in a 3-2 win. Gravlyn-Boss Kitondo scored two and Alan Taylor one, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season in the league.

Over at Newbury Park, a close game saw hosts AC Milano Reserves move to within a point of their opponents, Woodford Town, securing a second win of the season and a climb up into fourth spot in the standings.

DIVISION TWO

Barking & Dagenham Wanderers took home all three points from their trip to Northbrooks, scoring eleven without reply in an 11-0 win. Keanan Bancroft scored four, Harvi Shehi a hat-trick, Anthony Bonsu two, the others coming from Francesco Iheanyiogu and Berty Frith with the others.

There was a big result for Warren Senior who are up into second place in the table following their 2-1 win at the weekend away at Colebrook Royals Reserves. Jack Glenister scored twice for their side with Calvin Bell’s strike proving just consolation.

The other game from the division saw a five goal thriller edged by the away side with Singh Sabha Barking returning home with all three points following a 3-2 victory over Endurance Athletics. James Folkes scored two and Ryan Dubb one to hand their side the win.

DIVISION THREE

Things couldn’t be tighter at the top with three sides on twelve points, Prospect Protégé leading the way on goal difference following their 3-1 home victory over Euro Stars. Abbas Osman struck for the visitors but Prospect strikes from Emmanuel Alo, Charlie Dillon and Jayden Thiongo proved enough.

Sitting just behind the leaders on goal difference are South Ilford Catholics, making it four wins from five this season following a hard fought 3-2 win against Stone Town. Terence De Souza, William Levis and Orintas Mikulskas grabbed the all important goals in the win.

Third place belongs to Byron Red Star presently, also on twelve points after four opening wins, aided by Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Romford Town Flyers at Westlands. Daniel Shobande, Lloyd Ugoriji and Sion Daley netted for the visitors to confirm all three points.

The fourth side sitting on twelve points are Manford Way and they earned themselves a fourth league victory with a 2-0 home success over Old Esthameians Under 23s, courtesy of a goal apiece from William Sandell and Joe Marjason.

Turkmenkoy are up into sixth spot in the table following the weekend’s results, moving to eight points after a narrow 2-1 win over Condor Reserves. Joshua Bryant and Suat Erdogan goals were just enough in the end to record the victory.

DIVISION FOUR

May & Baker EC have returned to the top of the table in Division Four, coming away with all three points against East Park Rovers in a 5-3 result. Charlie Gardner, Reece Hewitt and Remy Mathurin scored for Park but two Ross Riding efforts plus goals from Jordan Miller, Shane Hovell and Shane Redford saw Bakers over the line.

Moving up into fourth place, Colebrook Royals A made it three wins in five this season after a 4-2 away success over previous leaders Valence United A. Oliver West scored two, Lenny Hunt and James Deaney the others, overcoming Valence goals from Charlie Surridge and Enzo Victoriano.

It was a winning Sunday for Cardinals Athletic also who racked up five goals in a 5-1 home win over Eastern Avenue to move into fifth place in the table, Isaac Clarke, Daniel Acquaye, Ryan Birch and Alfie Bull all on the scoresheet.

The final game from the division saw defences on top as a rare goalless draw saw Royal Lions and East London Spartans share the spoils in a 0-0 draw at Hainault Rec, a result which was enough for Spartans to move off the bottom of the table.

DIVISION FIVE

There was a first defeat of the season for leaders, Epping Town, their winning run put to an end following a 3-1 away defeat against Alpha on Sunday. Nathan Henderson scored the Town goal but it was the hosts who left with the points.

That result also allowed Ping City Phoenixes to close the gap on the promotion chasing sides, beating Mansfield Rangers 9-0 in a local derby match-up. Jack Flood bagged a hat-trick, Harrison Green scored two, Charlie Vince, Varun Syal, Phil Herman and Ryan Radley with the others for Ping.

DIVISION SIX

It’s still Legacy City leading the way in Division Six and they made it six wins on the spin but not without a battle, edging a close game 2-1 against Lonsdale in Hainault. Roxhersi Arapi scored for Lonsdale but that proved not quite enough as City struck twice themselves.

Over in Dagenham, two of the promoted sides met with Gatcliffe taking on high-flying Warren United. It was the hosts who left the happier of the teams with Joe North and Nico Bunduku scoring the game’s only goals in a 2-0 Gatcliffe victory.

There was a six-goal thriller in the other game from the division as Valence United B and Coppice Row had to settle for a share of the spoils in a 3-3 draw. Robert Devlin’s hat-trick for Valence was equalled by goals from Jake Mernagh, Matheus de Lima and Jay Winter for Row.

DIVISION SEVEN

It’s seven wins for Ace Athletics but not without a battle after edging a seven-goal thriller with Barkingside on Sunday, 4-3. Michael Baker scored two and Joe Cadden one for ‘Side but Ace took the points with two Craig Cagehin efforts plus goals from Joshua Craske and Riley Boyce.

There was a big first win for Hainault Athletic for the season, scoring five without reply against Rush Green Rangers at the Rec. Luke Sutcliff’s hat-trick set them on their way with Wasiu Lawal and Ashley White also on the scoresheet in the 5-0 success.

Also in scoring form were Highams Park Rangers who produced a strong home winning performance against Romford Bullsharks at Robert Clack, winning 4-0 courtesy of two goals from Simeone Hurley and one each from Daniel Francis and Alan Goddard.

Another team to score four on Sunday were United Amateurs Reserves for whom Tylor Junior made a big contribution, scoring a hat-trick, as they defeated Collier Row Under 23s 4-1, Ernest Peka grabbing their goal.

Barking Colts have climbed up into third place, level on points with second placed Zone 4 Athletic whom they defeated on Sunday in a narrow 3-2 win. Ben Ashelford, John Mansoori and Akeem Matthews goals were enough in the end, overcoming Zone goals from Jerome Greenidge and Luke Caston.

COUNTY CUP

In the London Sunday Junior Cup, it was a clean sweep for Corinthian sides, beginning at Harris Academy where East End United took their place in the third round with a 6-2 victory over Racing Keeblers.

Also heading into the third round next month are East London Ballers Reserves who secured their place following a solid 3-0 home performance against Camden Sunday League Division Two unbeaten leaders, The Gun 2nd.

It was also a good morning for East London Ballers’ Under 23s side who were also in home action with the visit of Boston Manor to West Ham Park, the hosts picking up a 4-1 win over their Southern Sunday League opponents.

Benchviews also continued their run in the competition, taking on a Continental side from the Barnet Sunday League, but leaving with a victory under their belts following a 2-0 success that puts them into the hat for round three.

There was mixed success for league sides in the London Sunday Junior Shield but it did prove a successful morning for Chingford Athletic who headed south of the river to face Haywards, returning with a 4-1 win to their name and a place in round three.

An all-Corinthian clash pitted Young Royals up against London Legacy in Chigwell with only one side able to leave with a place in the third round, that honour going to Royals as they completed a hard-fought 2-1 win.

An eleven-goal thriller rounds off the day’s action as JK Silvertown Reserves’ trip along the District Line to East Putney ended in a narrow reverse, losing 6-5 on the day to see their run in the competition come to an end.
